June 22, 201511 yr Yep this is gonna be massive mistake from us again, I can feel it. What's success and failure in regards to this signing?
June 22, 201511 yr Not only are we lumbered with Falcao for a year. We also somehow managed to splurge £25m on Cuadrado. Who on earth thought that was a good idea? Did anyone actually bother to see him play? Board needs to get its act together. Seriously. Jose signings, surely ??? ... the previous policy under Michael emenalo has noticeably changed since JM's arrival.
June 22, 201511 yr A good transfer window would be if we can put a stop to the Falcao deal and sell Cuadrado while we can still get some of our money back. 100% agree ...
June 22, 201511 yr What's success and failure in regards to this signing? Well he will probably take minutes away from Remy and no doubt in my mind will be sh*te for us. We need a player whose going to get us points not lose us points. Edited June 22, 201511 yr by Bobbywoodhogan

June 22, 201511 yr That's not an answer. What exactly makes him a success or failure? Number of goals? Trophies won? How is it not an answer? I think he's gonna be sh*t and Im worried he's going to deny a much better player game time, end of story. Edited June 22, 201511 yr by Bobbywoodhogan

But what is your criteria that determines whether he's sh*t or not? Seen you and your Glaswegian buddy constantly moaning without much actual reasoning. Either of you that confident of your prediction?

Either of you that confident of your prediction? Because he's been sh*t for sixteen months simple as. Oh and because he's Glaswegien you feel the need to bring that up? f**k me you come out with some idiotic stuff. We have more reason to think he'll be a hit than good. We have more reason to think he'll be a hit than good. But he is Glaswegian...you really have an issue with adjectives don't you. But again, I understand that you might be stressed. It's not your fault. Anyway, fancy a little wager on Falcao? You and the Glaswegian can go halves.

It's not valid to the discussion Sorry but you're the last person I'd get into any sort of bet with.

Give you and Chelseabear a chance to put your money where your mouth is. Can be a donation to this site at the end of the season. If you're so certain he'll fail then where's the harm?

June 22, 201511 yr I'm actually not Glaswegian, although I'm sure the fella will swear blind I am....

June 23, 201511 yr A few seasons ago our signings were mostly spot on and I was really happy with the direction we were going in buying youth and bleeding them in to the team. For instance Azpi, Oscar, Hazard and et al. But it now seems we just want short term players again for a quick fix.
June 23, 201511 yr I honestly don't think he's going to be a major success but I can see why Jose is doing this. I wish people would have a little faith in a manager who just guided us to a League title. Falcao will be brought in to do a job and provide cover for Costa who has injury problems. It will be for a year and probably a year only, It's decent business when there is nothing else out there. I would much rather Falcao for a year than Benteke for 4 or 5, that would probably put the nail in the coffin for the likes of Bamford and Solanke ever succeeding at this club. Bamford/Solanke could potentially have loans at premier league clubs this year and bang in a number of goals. They could then come back full of confidence and take Falcaos place. Or we could just do a Lukaku and sell them for 25+million. I keep hearing Costa needs a backup but I think he needs competition. He looked out of sorts after getting banned, and even before then there were many games when he looked out of sorts if you took out his goals. It is a false assumption that there is nothing out there, I reckon it is the opposite in fact; Manduzic, Tevez, Vietto, Dyabala, Higuain is for sale at the right price, Benteke is available, Martinez is moving. Fans have this idea Jose will play our youth forwards next season, and I can't find anything to back this up. I also highly doubt either Bamford/Solanke will get any premier league loans as starters. Bamford banged in goals last season in the championship, while Wilson who is two years younger at Utd made 13 starts(started ahead of Falcao in some games mind you). I reckon Wilson is more likely to get a PL as a starter ahead of Bamford just because he has some experience in the league. Where does that leave our loanees going forward? Also we have been here before with Lukaku and he kept getting sent back on loan, what is the criteria for breaking through; a PL trophy while on loan? 20 League goals?

Lukaku did break through, except then he wanted to be #1. If a young striker is happy playing 2nd or 3rd fiddle to Costa (and Remy) and he has anywhere near the sort of loan experience Lukaku had, he'd be a shoe in for a squad spot.

During that time we got plenty of older players like Ba, Mata, Meireles, Luiz just to name a few.
