Except he was sh*t at united as well.

Seems he bucked up and got in shape instead of blaming everyone else for his poor form.

Apparently since the end of last season he's been working closely with a specialist physio.

It would appear to have done wonders for his fitness and is looking like his old self again.

It's a shame it didn't work out for him at Chelsea, he's a quality forward but it seemed that injuries had caught up with him and once Jose was sacked it appeared that he was frozen out too.

great to see him close to his best again, he was arguably the best pure no.9 in the world at one point. awful pen, but that chip was as good as you'll ever see.

there's no guarantee that a player can come back strong after injuries like that, either physically or mentally. I guess he needed two years and the assurance that he'd start every week to recover...

Perhaps there is still life in the old dog yet... We might as well see if we can bring back Mutu from Colombia and see if Kezman wants to return? Crikey... the list of pretty bad strikers I could have gone on to write just then is scary. Not as bad as Wet Spam, but not miles off either.

I always thought there was more to his supposed decline than met the eye, Torres turned crap because he relied on pace and athleticism and was never the most clever of footballers. Falcao on the other hand was so good because of his clever movement and predatory instincts and that's something that doesn't go. United or Chelsea weren't in a stable position when he played for both, United under LVG barely created anything of real note and he played all his games at Chelsea bar one during Jose's meltdown and let's be honest even prime Falcao would have struggled in those circumstances.

In theory i believe he could have been decent with the club in a stable position under Conte, not his prime self but at least a decent alternative to Costa. Given the money we would have had to splash to have him this season it definitely was to big a gamble but in theory he could have worked under Conte atleast in a squad role.

To be fair, we haven't had much success with strikers signing in the past decade. I will leave out the obvious great strikers and failures. The likes of Anelka and Crespo did good job, but never consistent enough. Falcao came to us at a bad time, his own form and problem within the dressing room. I'm not sure why, only the very best striker with particular traits succeed at Chelsea.

Even Toure admits they're defence was trash.
