Surely the Wages we will pay him are enough to make him sulk, stuck on the blueside of that city, watching us out perform and maybe have a genuine chance to hold onto the PL, Danny Murphy on talksh*te this morning said "Chelsea and Mourinho, best thing for him at his stage, he may not get this chance again, grab it whilst you can, because that is what id do, if i were him"....

I don't agree with the approach of some of the Everton fans that have come on here and I have criticised Martinez for being a massive hypocrite but I have to say that I don't like to see Chelsea fans on here retaliate with rubbish like "you're a feeder club", "he doesn't want relegation football" etc. Proper Chelsea fans should and would know better than that, I imagine the majority coming out with phrases like this are "newer" Chelsea fans.

Or...... We are fans that don't like generalised assumptions about our fan base and reply accordingly.

Let's not go overboard here.

Oh please not this again.  Youngsters are going to be 'newer' by definition, they can't help when they were born.  'Proper' is subjective and potentially insulting for folk who can't get to games for a number of reasons, if that's one of the criteria.

Great response.

A supporter can be someone who buys the merchandise every season and puts their money into the club.

We have supports in America and its unfair to expect them to attend many games.

The arrogance of some older fans with the superiority complex because they were born before the younger fans bemuses me.

The vast majority of you have just confirmed the suspicions that most people have about the Chelsea fanbase, and the whole club.

It's not remotely welcoming or tolerant of opposing fans (or at least it hasn't been in this thread) by the way. Apart from a few calmer posters who have been happy to have a reasonable chat, loads of people just pop in here, abuse Everton or Everton fans or Martinez and leave it at that.

f**k off prick.

Agreed completely.

Bluedylan was great value, I thought. Maybe some of the other Evertonians weren't.

I'm not saying newer = gloryhunting Abramovich era bandwagon fans.

Proper has nothing to do with attending games, anybody who uses that as a criteria is a moron.

I'm saying that you should never forget where you've come from and even newer Chelsea fans purely because of age should take it upon themselves to learn it, then people wouldn't hurl what they think are insults towards other clubs.

Any Chelsea fan dismissing other clubs as "feeder clubs" or "f**k off he doesn't want to play for a relegation team" are no better than any Liverpool fan banging on about "no history".

So let me get this straight.

Everton, as a club who are unlikely to win anything seem a reasonable place to stay for a promising young defender over the opportunity of playing for the champions ?

If a fan points this out, they're disrespecting another club for pointing out facts.

Great theory. Bloody hell.

Saying we can offer him a platform and opportunities that you cant and you're a feeder club so deal with it are completely different.

Liverpool fans would merely be pointing out facts if the chose the wording of "historically, we have won more trophies than you have" but they chose "f**k off CFC, you've got no history" because they are classless and brainless. If that's the company you are comfortable in then feel free to continue.

I don't care about Liverpool who you keep babbling on about. Like Everton, at the present they are just another 'almost' club who will not come close to winning the league.
