September 6, 201510 yr I dont see Jose ditch the old players just cos they had a few bad games other than maybe Ivan, i think everyone else will be the same as against palace expect ivan to be replaced with dave and rahman on in daves space. thats all.
September 6, 201510 yr I really hope Ivanovic won't play. He became so surprisingly bad. City won at GP easily, expect us to be outplayed. Edited September 6, 201510 yr by Kendrick-L
September 6, 201510 yr He can't go on picking Branna who has been awful. Same goes to Cesc and Costa. It hurts the team to let players in bad form to get picked.
September 6, 201510 yr I think the selection of RLC among others in some of our hoped for line ups is because we want to see players who are hungry and will give it their all. Having seen 3 of our first four games this season it just seems the effort, as well as the application is missing from some of our regular starters. Hazard, Cesc and Brana being some of the stand outs there. On a side note was surprisingly disappointing, surprising to me anyways, to see England line up without a single Chelsea player in the line up. Usually I do not bother with the national team but I would like to see us have a few in the team in the future. Maybe RLC could be one, depending how he does for us. Stones is one we are looking to sign. Would like to see us maintain an English presence in the Chelsea side as well, when JT retires and Cahill goes we could, should we fail to sign Stones, be back to the time of 11 overseas players in our line up, you know back when the media blasted us for doing so. Would not be surprised if injuries forced us in to it this season, all it takes is for JT and Cahill to be banned/injured at the same time: Courtios Azpi Papy/Brana Zouma Baba Cesc Matic Pedro Oscar Hazard Costa Wonder if the media backlash would be as bad this time around. Having Papy and Happy in the center of defense would make for a commentators dream though lol.
September 6, 201510 yr Watching a rerun of the palace game. We are only very bad at defending. Otherwise we look okay. We will get this season sorted. Probably not Prem champs but 2nd or 3rd.
September 8, 201510 yr A good professional performance and a win would be nice. The crowd will be volatile after Stonesgate, best keep them quite.Anyway UP THE BLUES!
September 8, 201510 yr If Ivanovic starts I'm just wondering how often he will get ripped open down the right. Thoughts?
September 8, 201510 yr If Ivanovic starts I'm just wondering how often he will get ripped open down the right. Thoughts? It's every teams formula for victory when they see his name on the team sheet..I'd say lots and lots, no way Mou can do that again..surely, not after he admitted is failure by keeping him on, even if not by name.
September 9, 201510 yr I agree with most. Baba and Azpi at full back. Obviously a certain poster will be on here flooding the forum in tears because Ivanovic isn't playing as he won player of the year last year. Any genuine fan will realise that we need change though. It's time to trust both new signings and youth and start our season. If RLC doesn't do it this season then he probably never will. Time to give the lad a chance. Kenedy, Baba, RLC. Players with something to prove generally have a huge impact on games. Get them on Jose. Edited September 9, 201510 yr by MayosNoun

Players with something to prove generally have a huge impact on games. Get them on Jose. I think many genuine fans may, and will, disagree with you. I'm not only of them but I hardly think it's fair to consider some not to be genuine fans simply because they passionately support a cult hero going through a poor period. Opinions on tactics or lineups rarely show how much or how little one support their club.
September 9, 201510 yr Opinions on how we want our club to progress is considered both ambition and recognition. If you want to sit and reminisce of past glories then that's your own prerogative. Genuine fans want progression. A balance of experience and youth and players who are on top of their game. I love Dan Petrescu; I wouldn't go out and sign him to replace Ivanovic, therefore your logic is completely ridiculous. Edited September 9, 201510 yr by MayosNoun

I love Dan Petrescu; I wouldn't go out and sign him to replace Ivanovic, therefore your logic is completely ridiculous. And if you legitimately think Ivanovic was the best RB in the league last season and is still a top top player whose just in a bad patch, then you aren't a genuine fans? You've equated being a genuine fan with squad selection. I won't call that ridiculous logic as logic has nothing to do with it. I know people who've lived and breathed Chelsea for over 50 years and would be thrilled to see Roman leave and a return to the second division if it meant they could afford to take their families again and be in the stands with fellow passionate fans instead of tourists and corporate snoozers. These aren't genuine fans though, are they? FunNY considering they've forgotten more about Chelsea than either you or I will ever know. See, to some people being a genuine fan is far more than points on the table and trophies in the cabinet...... or who starts at RB. I
September 9, 201510 yr ^^^ word salad Don't worry, you've already established that logic is beyond your grasp because you already have two fists full of ignorance . No need to reinforce the point.
September 9, 201510 yr I'm certain changes will be made for this game, especially after the International break. Willian just played the friendly in USA, he will probably have less than 48 hours to prepare for the game, make sense to rest him in my view. We have 7 games coming up in 22 days, as I see it, anyone who stayed back during the International break should be considered for this match.

Hope Oscar has been resting up and is fit because he's going to probably get some game time.
September 9, 201510 yr ^^^ scrambling for relevance. I give up. Education has failed you. ^^^ talking bollocks, unable to continue a discussion. I would say you are the one education has failed.

September 9, 201510 yr ^^^ scrambling for relevance. I give up. Education has failed you. You just followed up a comment that said nothing more than "Word Salad" by calling someone uneducated. Now that truly is Word Salad.
September 9, 201510 yr ^^^ talking bollocks, unable to continue a discussion. I would say you are the one education has failed. ^^^ Scrambling for relevance I have been over the Ivanovic situation to death. There are just some people who cannot look past him being dropped.

September 9, 201510 yr I'd love Falcao to come good at Chelsea. He works his ass off and deserves to hit a bit of form.
September 9, 201510 yr I think everyone will except Ivanovic being dropped if it happens but there are some people writing off Ivanovic's career all because of a poor spell of form, he has been a great servant to the club and I'm sure he will gain some if not all of this back with time I don't think a few bad games instantly ends your career. But back on to Ivanovic's form it really isn't helped out by how well this drop in form is known look at the last game against Crystal Palace they literally only attacked down his side and targeted him with both winger and full back as well us other midfielders joining the attack down that flank even the best RB in the best of forms would have let some attacks through and it also explains why he looked so shot physically at the end of the game, its not an excuse for his loss of form its a byproduct of it and he is always likely to be lambasted whilst this continues as he will never be able to shut out every attack and so all those pundits and fans who only watch highlights will notice attacks have got passed him and say he has still lost it.I would like to see Baba play but I also didn't watch the Serbia games and won't be there at training so I will trust Jose's decision if he doesn't get dropped.
