MOTD- Shearer slated our attack and said we were awful, and in the same breath he then goes into depth on how Stones had a terrific game.

We were awful everywhere and Stones was solid, had Costa in his pocket all game.

We lack the motivation. We used it all up to win the premier league last season, now we are drained completely and paying the price, If you take Guardiola and Ferguson and make them assistant to Mourinho, it won't change anytin. Its gonna b a long.... Season

Didn't even finish the game - gave up after the 3rd went in and, tbh, I wasn't the least bit surprised - Matic's goal just papered over the cracks (incidentally, the exact phrase my stream's commentator used) of another woeful display. Don't know what's happening to us, but it's not individual performances - it's the whole team. We need a fundamental rethink of our organisation and setup for games, because business as usual just isn't cutting it anymore. If it were up to me, I'd drop a few "invicibles" for a while, come what may. Having said that, I can't find too much to fault in the players - it looks like they're trying, there's just something wrong with the way we approach games now that sucks everyone in a black hole of mediocrity.

We will get better - if not for any other reason, but for that we just can't get any worse. Even though it's very early, we don't look like we can compete with City and I would expect us to finish top 3, top 4 if this form continues or we slip again later. My hope is we start squad players in the PL and focus on the CL after January, a move now known as "the full Benitez" :face_palm:

If the usual players and formation stays, Everton will win this 3-1.

If one or more out of form players (especially Ivanovic) are dropped for this match, then it's a 1-1 draw.

Great shout.

I hate to think what you would say if you were one for melodramatics!!

I'd be going Chicken Little. But seriously, there have to be some changes, and the sooner the better.

Great shout.

Well it could have been luck but I did also predict that Chelsea would lose by the odd goal to Palace so perhaps I might be seeing things a little more objectively than most of the club's fans.

I'll wait for the Arsenal match thread to come up next then I will post my mystic meg prediction there.

Just watching the first 2 Everton goals in the split second it takes Brana to decide to put his hands behind his back and to do that he could have closed the space between himself and the opponent instead.

Stop the hands behind the back thing and throw yourself into defending. Thats all we need from him.

Maybe the players r getting tiered of mous style of management i mean there not stupid they know which team mates r not performing unyet there getting picked week after week it must have some sort of negative effect on the balance and harmony of the other players who r trying to put in a shift....

Only RA can put this right, not by spending money, but maybe by banging a few heads together. JM is probably having his wings clipped by the board and is demonstrating what happens when the coach doesn't have total control. Our transfers dealings have been a farce, and I reckon he's been overruled by one or more nonentities further up the ladder. Getting a distinct deja vu feeling...

Over and beyond the team lethargy there were quite a few problems today. Individuals and tactics.

1. Zouma was often out of position, sometimes way out. He is still learning

2. Kennedy was garbage. Ran a lot achieved little

There is no system in attack.

In any event the attack is badly limited by Dave not being able to cross from the left

Fabregas needs more drive. If he ran at the defence a few times it would open up more passes.

It's all a bit of a worry. Baba must be lot worse than I thought he was to not even be on the team sheet.

Had to stay away from the forum yesterday, had to calm myself down. Absolutely absymal yet again what is going on we look so shaky and a shadow of ourselves at the start of last season, Fabregas Hazard and Ivanovic have all been dreadful whilst Costa doesn't look confident. Begovic had a good game hopefully keeps up the solid performances, I think time to bring in Baba and RLC for Ivanovic and Fabregas for the CL game though something needs to change.

Honestly just don't even know where to start, it is staggering how many problems there are at CFC at the moment. Just seems like virtually everything has gone wrong both on and off the pitch since the end of last season.

What concerns me above all is the lack of fight from the players. It's almost as if Jose's lost the dressing room, but how on earth can that have happened since last season? These are the same players that gave everything to win the Title and COC. I'm 100% behind Jose, he deserves the time to right the ship, but ultimately he will be shown the door if the players don't start to fight fo him again.

It's good that we have Maccabi in a few days at home rather than having to wait until the Arsenal game on Saturday. This is just the kind of game that we could do with to hopefully get the winning feeling back again. I'm expecting a huge improvement from the players.

If JT cannot harness any togetherness on the pitch, we are in trouble, its always been his team once they cross the touchline, so i have big worries how we stop the demise into truly unchartered parts of the league, well in the last god knows how long (without some searching)..

The system at the moment is poor. We aren't defending as a team. We have huge distances between the lines and yet our pressing is ineffective.

Our back four are being exposed because they are not being helped further upfield. Its the same issues we had under AVB.

I'm confident Jose can fix it though.

It was really hurt to see Chelsea losing but I am not worried. I have faith in our manager and team. They will bounce back this Wed.

I really wish I lived in the UK so I don't have to wake up early to watch game.

Looks like we are safe from that, for now lol

That Newcastle game in a couple of weeks is gonna be a real 6 pointer!!!
