Yeah, but what he has done so far this season is hardly a master class, i could've done a better job. He cant even feed us the its a working progress line AVB did, we did well last year, so why cant we expect to atleast do ok this year.

There are lots of problem. One is that the team is playing like a scared team resulting in lots of bad decisions in 1:1, crossing, hoofing the ball upfield like schoolboys and alternatively trying to dribble out of the defensive penalty area when hoofing is the right choice. We don't miss Terry the slow coach, but we do miss Terry the decision maker and character.

Jose needs to put some joy back in the team and liberate their creative spirit as well as the other stuff.

Thought Azpi, Willian, Begovic and Costa did okay. Ivanovic just looked overwhelmed. Fabregas and Pedro were poor. And then there was Mikel doing his strange impression of a midfielder.

No idea what Jose can take from tonight. The performance was mediocre really. Crappy defending, lack of control in midfield and poor finishing upfront. Porto were nothing special but they were comfortable winners.

It might help to take Ivanovic out of the firing line. We’re conceding too many from his side of the pitch so we're constantly playing catch up.

We've got to give ourselves a chance at least.

I actually think exactly that...I cannot believe that Mourinho has overlooked Ivanovic's recent below par performances? He's one of the most decorated managers in the world and i cannot believe he has missed what both fans and pundits are criticising in Ivanovic's recent performances?

However do you believe Mourinho stills plays him after everything he's achieved and all the pressure he's faced, the wheels are off after 7 premier league games and Ivanovic is the only one who can save him!!!???

This had to be a statement game to the players all across the board. No Oscar, Falcao, Remy to start off with and then Mikel, Ivanovic and Ramires are inserted into the starting XI had a recipe for disaster from the get go. Hopefully this is the kick in the ass that Hazard needs to get back on form like last season.

 

I believe that Oscar is that player that is needed in the starting XI that provides what we need right now, creativeness. Ivanovic is just a lost cause honestly, seven games in and he is constantly being inserted in the starting squad!? There has been nothing shown to demand a starting spot, let a lone a spot on the bench, hoping that he is not given another contract at the end of the season, thank you for everything but cheers.

 

As much as it pains me and dampens my day when we do not play well, let alone win games that are served on a silver platter, we are in a rough patch at the moment. Last year was full of cheers and joy, majority was amazing moments, but now we have to stick with the team in the tough times. It is not an easy thing to do, but the team needs the support, we cannot turn out backs on them now, Southampton on the weekend, I will be there, we need a good performance.

 

We can still win this group overall, but there are a lot of things that need to be changed/fixed.

I have no solutions. Like lots of posters whose expert analysis varies from binning most of the players to sacking one of the best managers in the world.

Just gonna stay positive. Whether it gets worse before it improves or whatever the F happens.

We came very close to nicking a draw against a no push over porto side. As for their second goal,a player on the post might of stopped it but how the hell did he manage to get it on target in the first place !! was a very good goal. I think there were quite a few plusses last night but you do have to wonder what the score might of been if ivanovic had not been playing and terry was on the pitch with the capt arm band.

He wont play JT but continues to toil away with Ivan.

Don't know what was going on with the substitutions, everything was like for like, the shape of the team and approach didn't change and Jose giving himself a lack of options on the bench has to play a large part in that? 

 

Very deflating performance in every aspect. 

It should always be noted that if there was a game Chelsea was expected to lose in the group stage than THIS IS IT! So I wouldn't be overly concerned about the loss.

 

I would however be overly concerned that we were outplayed. 22 shots to 12...

 

As for Ivanovic... For the sake of Ivanovic's legacy Mourinho must pull him!!! Baba + Azpi is a must. If Baba doesn't work out than try a youth player and make a purchase in January. But give Baba a run out!!! He was good enough to be deemed one of the best in the Bundesliga, so he is definitely better than Ivanovic!

Besides Mourinho himself says he thinks Bertrand Traore is best played as a striker, decided to keep him on with the team and despite that the guy has practically not seen the ball...
