We have zero luck this season, and will be fighting all the way to the end! Four weeks ago we would have lost 3-1. Today, we almost clinched it. Man Utd are abysmal; I fancy us for that one. 

 

If someone here hasn't adjusted their expectations by now, well ... I can do nothing for you then ;). We will be fighting for every single point, and we will be stuck where we are for some months. A train wreck like this is not easily salvaged.

I am sure playing w/ a broken bone in the face doesn't help matters. IMHO Matic is always quick to shield his face & that is very understandable.

Had to miss the game, can someone write a proper report? When I checked the lineup, then I was so disappointed to see Fabregas and Costa playing, but Costa did his job by scoring 2 for us, but what did Fabregas?

Well Diego is certainly a transformed player since Jose left. A coincidence or a sign of a problem between him and Jose?

If our aim is to make up ground of the top 4 this was a sh*t result. Despite watford being in good form you have to beat sides like them at home.

If we are aiming to avoid relegation then that is a point towards that against an in form side, but still a disappointment after taking the lead.

About the penalty, good run from hazard to win it. Clear slip by oscar on it, and that is a risk when you stop your run then sprint again to the ball.

Those who called a sub par oscar performance after his top display against sunderland, aka his Normal behaviour from his years here. You were bang on the money.

Why did oscar take the kick though? He was not playing well. Was it a case that he scored one last week? Why not hazard? He won the foul. Is he shelved now because he missed a few? Why not Costa he was on a hat trick.

That was a big big miss. We cannot afford to miss pens we need every point we can get. More importantly we deserved to score that and win the game.

For the most part we defended everything well. Tibo had little but catching practise. Only the double capoue save come to mind.

One goal a lucky deflection, the other a stupid pen by matic. How bad is he now? Seems every game he gives the opposition chances.

Pedro was the best of the attacking midfield, not saying much though. Oscar average, became poor when he missed that crucial pen. Willian, minus his corners, back to the displays of last season.

Cesc passed well. Him and Mikel did more for our cause today in 45 mins than matic did in 90.

Majot plus Costa getting 2 and looking way better. Negative after that is he misses United away.

No complaints with the overall team display, only the result.

On a different day matic does not give that stupid pen away and we score ours, win 3-1 and we are all much happier.

Fair point it was a beauty. In a average display he got that assist and I would give his corner an assist too along with jt for the flick.

Difference between him, the hazard of last year and oscar in general. When the former two play average they still can offer that moment. Sadly is all or nothing with oscar in terms of attacking play.

also great composure by DC on his 2nd goal too. His lil' stutter step froze the defenders & the GK. Only DC knew what he was going to do & fooled those trying to stop him.

Result doesn't tell the full story today. I felt we got in behind well and created some good chances. The penalty give away was sloppy and the missed penalty was unfortunate , 9 times out of 10 we win that game. Pretty pleased with how we played actually.

I had not really thought about it, but, as it says on that link, our only two home league wins this season are against Arsenal and Sunderland. We really are shocking at home and if we do not improve that we will go down.

today's results are bad for us - that gap to midtable is looking more difficult to bridge. Southampton in 12th are going to be 5 points ahead. We are in the relegation fight, there's just no hiding from the fact

I would keep the arseholes and let them play in the europa league if we get in it.
