PSG vs. Chelsea (CL) 16/02/16 KO: 19:45 BST

When Cahill's good he's great, Branna impressed me.

Thought Cahill was poor. Slow distribution. Always on the back foot. Only looks good in last ditch scenarios that he could prevent 20 yards further forward.

Disappointed by Hazard. Did nothing in the game. We really need him firing if we're going to do anything in this tournament.

Looking back over the past 10 years or so, we've had the following record after losing away in the first leg of a European Cup tie:

2014 PSG 3-1 Chelsea- we go through

2012 Napoli 3-1 Chelsea-we go through

2010 Inter 2-1 Chelsea- Inter go through

2008 Fenerbahce 2-1 Chelsea- we go through

2005 Barca 2-1 Chelsea-we go through

2004 Monaco 3-1 Chelsea- Monaco go through

We are well in this, don't worry.

Really good performance, prob best this year. Shame we couldn't hold on to the draw but that's what you get with Cahill. There's always a mistake in him and he showed with Cavani's goal.

Am I the only one that thought Cahill was quite good tonight?

Baba good, hazard poor. Their midfield very strong. Think that Traore or Kennedy might make a better h2 sub when chasing a goal due to more speed.

Traore strikes me as a natural in the game environment. No stage fright, seems to draw energy from the atmosphere. It would be a big risk, but I think he can do it.

We can get through. We'll tear them apart and thrash them 1-0 at the Bridge, job done.

I don't see them scoring no goals AND us scoring a goal. I have an awful feeling this will be decided by away goals. Hope I'm wrong. (I usually am in some way  )

People say PSG are playing in a weaker league, they probably are but they're 24 points clear and winning most weeks. So, they're confidence is sky high as opposed to ours. A good performance by us, no doubt about it. Also, Brana came to us as a centre half, he's not a full back.

Thought Baba was excellent, brilliant performance. Solid and assured. See what happens when you trust players Jose.

I think it will be tight in the second leg but this will give us a lot of confidence. Our passing was excellent. Just need to take our chances and be ruthless.

Ivanovic was the one marking Cavani so how come the goal is Cahill's fault?

There's never fun losing, but most of us would take that result before the game. It's certainly not the 0:5 like some optimistic supporter predicted the other day. We should have lost a couple of games before tonight, so no surprise a better team got us. I honestly think this is not much worse than 1:2. The way we been defending this season, no way we could keep them scoreless in the return leg. Now we know we need to attack to win, exactly the right mindset we need to have going into the return leg. There's no time to feel sorry for ourself, even bigger game is coming up Sunday, need to focus on that one.

I think the two goals have shown that we could have done with JT organising the defence.

Yep, I've said add JT back in and there's cause for optimism.

So the guy who carried us last season to the title is now useless. And we wonder why he wants to leave with attitude like this from SOME fans. Having a poor season doesn't equate to having no drive.

Im curios to know how he carried us to the league last season. As this is something you continually repeat, care to explain? I think its time you stop sticking up for Hazard, hes been sh*te. End of.

Needed a better result tonight to get through to the next round imo.

Still got a chance but psg are a good side and I cannot see us keeping a clean sheet in the second leg.

That interview with Ivan... Damn he's still didn't learn how to speak English.. after all those years in England.

He needn't worry the English are lazy linguists and don't always make an effort to speak other languages. Some English don't learn their own language, look at Rooney.

Really, you remember what you wrote, right?

”Absolutely disgusted with that. Both of their goals were completely avoidable but that shouldn't mask an indifferent performance from us.

I don't think there has been much of an improvement under Guus"

Just because I said there wasn't much of an improvement doesn't mean I think we played badly. Indifferent doesn't mean bad. Again my annoyance wasn't at the performance but at the fact we gave away two goals that could have been easily dealt with

Yip. Think you're right. Will be a nervous 90 minutes I feel.

Yeah, that's my gut feeling too, but you never know.

With a little more luck tonight we would have got the draw but that said they could have got a third so I'll take the 2-1. It's gonna be tough to win the tie and go through - one things for sure we will need Costa to be a lot better in the second leg and if Hazard i selected he too needs a Massive performance.

Half-time with a fair bit to do.

Pff what an intense game. Surely its different from what PSG is accustomed to play every week end. As I expected, Chelsea has more than enough talented players to mess with every tie in Europe.

I was surprised by Baba, very good performance from him, never heard of that player before.

Willian is a beast. Best player on the pitch by far and of course his corners and free kicks are deadly.

Hazard and Di Maria have seen better days.
Marquinhos was perfect (even though his placement as RB was a bit new to him).

Maxwell is getting old but f**k is that player smart.

Fabregas talent is spoiled when playing that close to his back line (but surely Mikel needed a technical player next to him [should have been matic as I understand])

Great Kevin Trapp.

Pastore is the best offensive player of Paris. He showed so much during the 10 minutes he spent on the pitch...

Second leg is full of promess. Terry and Matic in for Chelsea, Verratti at 100% and Pastore back for us....

It will be tight, for sure, but I think that Paris will pass if Hazard and Costa don't catch up with Willian.

Yeah, that's my gut feeling too, but you never know.

I agree. Chelsea will need Costa and Hazard to play at a much higher level
