Dooms day for this sh*tty season so far!

Thanks for signing up to post this.

What a creative name too...

Never thought I'd say this and never thought I'd feel it but I fukin hate one of our players. Diego is a c**t and the sooner he leaves the better.

I've always liked a player that upsets the opposition but Costa is plain nasty. If Suarez behaved as Costa does we'd want him hung drawn and quartered, Costa is every bit as bad as Suarez.

Before anyone says it, this has been my feeling for over a year but today I've completely lost patience.

I love a good ar*ehole up front. No matter how c*nty they are you're telling me you wouldn't want a strike force of Costa and Suarez?

Ok, if we're being literal then of course the season isn't over but in terms of trophies on offer it may well as be. There's a chance of finishing 7th but in terms of looking towards the future wouldn't it be better to perhaps use those minutes to develop youngsters?

It's very rare we're in a position where we have comparatively inconsequential first-team minutes.

Okay I understand that sentiment however I have 10 reasons why this season is not over.

1. It is not all about trophies or I would have stopped supporting Chelsea 40 years ago.

2. We can help stop West Ham getting a European place, EPL could do without another 10 year ban thanks , scousers fault but if you were around then you would have thought it was Chelsea despite not being in Europe !

3. We could help stop Spurs getting near the PL title. frankly I could just about stomach anyone else

4. Potential European place, albeit Europa (although CL still possible) even with Europa to me keeps discipline of playing midweek matches and mitigates the loss of Champions league money

5. Higher position bigger payout, might not sound important but with Romans lack of investment (true to his word btw) then everything helps

6. A bit of respectability... I would rather we were in say the top 6th that 10th

7. always nice to finish above Liverpool

8. Season ticket holders have prepaid about £400 for these matches. don't sound like a lot but it is to a great number of us really pee'd of fif they pay all that money for a load of training matches.

9. We see what the players are made of, are they playing for the shirt or themselves. I want to see who's commited to turning things around

10. Momentum, we are going into the Euro's this summer some players are getting short breaks I want our players on a high and a roll so they comeback to pre-season energised and confident

But the season is over. There's nothing left to play for this season, but on the upside we can start looking towards the future with a bit of freedom. Blood a few youngsters, try a few new things and leave the place in a bit better shape for the next guy.

There are 8 games to go including West Ham, Liverpool and Tottenham .... Massive games.

Nothing left to play for?  really?  Surely you're just joshing!

Absolutely see where you're coming from and those points absolutely have merit.

For me the most important thing is next season though. The things about other teams I can take or leave, all I'm thinking about is where we're headed (points 2,3 and 7). The increase in bonus payout is marginal (and not especially anymore respectable), especially when compared to the TV money but Europa League would be good for next year (4,5,6). Point 8 I understand but I'd get more joy from seeing us try Loftus-Cheek than watching Mikel-Matic again. 9 I think we've seen who is committed in the last few months and 10...they need a kick up the arse from the new guy rather than happy feelings from a few dead rubbers.

Like I said, I do get where you're coming from but from here on out this season is essentially over and everything we do now is geared towards giving Conte the best possible set of players. We could play it safe and go for Europa League football but I think you have to make a judgment call and give players like Loftus-Cheek, Kenedy, Traore and even Aina, Abraham and Clarke-Salter experience. That to me is the more beneficial thing long-term.

Yeah I do get that, but I also think this club has to have larger considerations then three matches. We're in a massive crisis and beating these teams won't do anything to solve that.

Truth is, these teams are all currently better than us. They each have a better coach than us, they've each developed a unique identity for themselves from the owners down to the coaches and right through the players and they've got varying degrees of good things going on off the pitch too (but so have we with the stadium and our commercial deals).

Beating them in one match (which I'd love) doesn't change that but making a conscious effort to undo years of mismanagement might beat them in the long-term.

Big difference, Suarez would moan and roll around without being fouled, Costa was been kicked about all day by the Everton players, he had a right to be annoyed. If the ref got on top of Everton's obvious tactics early on, Costa would have had nothing to moan about. This the problem with ref's in this country, they allow teams like Everton to play that way.

Sorry but Everton were no more aggressive than Chelsea on the day, maybe we had a bit more passion but there was nothing malicious from either side. Barry's calmness in the spat with Costa (who gives as much as he gets) helped to diffuse the situation, Barry could've made a real meal of it but the fact he didn't will probably save Costa a longer ban, his post match denial certainly will.

You are having a poor season, but your problems are not a result of a biased BBC, poor refereeing or the opposition kicking lumps out of you (Ron Harris anyone), the issue lies within the club. One thing you have got going for you is decent away support, I was there and have to say the Chelsea lot were good value and well behaved, a pity more of them don't seem to visit this forum!

Well & truly fed up with Costa's antics. At best it's embarrassing and at worst it's a disgrace to the club.

For every good game you get out of him, he spends another involving himself in the unnecessary stuff & I wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea have already decided to cut their losses at the end of the season.

So called Chelsea fans saying the season is over and poxy scousers coming on here ffs.Close the thread!

Come on mate, no need for the 'so-called' stuff is there. You're talking about fellow Chelsea supporters who spend their hard-earned money to go to games and just want to see the best for the club.

You made some decent points in reply to Andy, but you have also spent a lot of time since you arrived bemoaning the lack of soul in the club's hierarchy.  Recognising that beating Spuds and the Pikies is all-important IS synonymous with the heart and soul of this club,  and always has been.  So, no, if we have the chance to put a crimp in the season of both of those sets of arseholes (no offence, Spuddy!) then the season is far from over.

Bin-dippers are an irrelevance, but it's always nice to bugger their season a bit too.

Again, one-off victories are great but I think we're in a position where we have to look longer term than that. Our season is no longer defined by beating Spurs, no matter how many goals Mal Donaghy gets.

Either way, I actually think a bit of adventure and optimism is what's best for the club. I'm saying we should give some of the young lads a run-out and I'm sure you probably agree. The only thing we disagree on is whether our season is over or not, but ultimately our teamsheets would probably have more in common than not so there's on real issue.

The same Barry that went to ground like he'd been shot after following through on a tackle with Costa resulting in Costa getting booked? Kicking him in the back of the legs every time he was turned? Yeah proper saint he was that game.

Read a stat that by the time Barry got his first yellow he had fouled Costa around 5 times.

Ridiculous isn't it. I though the ref was blowing for a foul on Costa then he gets booked for being tackled  :317:

Seeing Barry being sent off was the highlight of the match for me. He well deserved it at that stage having thrown himself about for most of the match. Apparently he is now a saint for not lying about being bitten. Costa treated unfairly yet again. Grrrr...

Unfortunately, when you play the game the way Costa does, you always run the risk of getting red carded. He's always on the edge and to be fair, he has got lucky a few times up to now and it's a surprise that he lasted this long without a sending off. I love his passion and fighting spirit but he really only has himself to blame for being the marked man he is.

Just curious - I haven't heard anything on this side of the pond, but has this challenge been investigated by the FA?

Don't be silly, that would mean the FA agree Chelsea were unfairly treated. God forbid the FA actually do something in our favour for once.
