Berardi had made over 100 senior appearances when Conte called him up while Bernardeschi had made 60 so it's not really similar to promoting a youth team player to the first-team squad.

Out of available options, I agree he was the best. But LVG has been absolutely terrible for United and wouldn't want Conte to turn out like him. Personally don't see that happening as Conte is young and seems adaptable unlike LVG.

Also, he may want Vidal but we missed that boat when he went to Bayern. Nainggolan looks like a better possibility. At this point, I will be happy with any hardworking midfielder with passing ability.
