May 5, 201610 yr Next season is going to be huge not only due to the amount of teams potentially fighting for the title but also the amount of top class managers in the league. - Mourinho (potentially) - Bilic - Guardiola - Pochettino - Ranieri - Klopp - Conte - Wenger - Benitez - Koeman What would be your top 5 and why?
May 5, 201610 yr This season makes me cautious about predictions but Guardiola and Conte have re-building jobs to do and it would surprise me if they produced a league winning team in season one. Ranieri will face a different challenge with LCFC being in four competitions. Klopp is definitely making progress, as is Van Gaal. Bilic has done well with West Ham but, in the past, they have gone through good spells and not sustained progress. I wouldn't rule out Wenger either but he'll have to break his habit of producing teams that play attractive football but lack fight. I think Pochettino and Klopp may be next season's top managers and, if (as he must, surely?) Klopp fixes LFC's defence, I think they'll be an excellent side. I have a gut feeling about LFC - on their day, the Klopp LFC has looked worryingly good. I haven't considered Jose or Rafa as, on balance, I don't think they'll be at English clubs next season. If Rafa is, it will not be with Newcastle.
May 6, 201610 yr 1) Ranieri others 20) Benitez (although he could well be in the top half of managers in the Championship)
May 12, 201610 yr Koeman has been impressive. I think he's been somewhat overlooked. I also think that there are very talented managers in the mid or lower table teams. Pulis and Allardyce are masters in that regard but are often overlooked due to the nature of their niche. Eddie Howe and Quique Sánchez Flores have done well this season considering the challenges that face promoted clubs. Watford may very well regret getting rid of him as reports have predicted. May 14, 201610 yr Slightly off topic but... Benitez... From Real Madrid to relegating Newcastle. We had his number all along. Overrated arsehole.
May 15, 201610 yr The Guardian report FSW would be open to moving to Everton if he doesnt stay at newcastle. Yes please
May 16, 201610 yr Part of me thinks we may be safe from Jose joining Man Utd, for now. LVG looks like he might yet cling on to his job, and Jose probably doesn't fancy next year in the Europa. PSG bound perhaps?
May 16, 201610 yr Jose says hes back in July. So the question is do United really sack LVG if he wins an FA Cup too? I think he stays and Pochettino takes over in 2017-18

May 16, 201610 yr PSG seems an option. He will get money to attempt to get another CL under his belt. I think so too. Plus he can say he's won everything in 5 countries. If he does go to PSG some of those clubs are in for some embarrassing results.
May 16, 201610 yr Slightly off topic but... Benitez... From Real Madrid to relegating Newcastle. We had his number all along. Overrated arsehole. In fairness, they did get better when he came in. In addition, he stepped into a situation he's not experienced enough to handle. There are certain managers whose expertise lies with relegation escapes. Pulis and Allardyce are the most noteworthy members of that niche. The board were stupid in appointing someone like Benitez who is in a different niche. If I were a board member in that situation, I'd take Pulis or Allardyce over Guardiola any day. It doesn't mean Benitez is a bad manager in general, just that he's a poor choice for that particular situation. Edited May 16, 201610 yr by offside

PSG bound perhaps? As much as I want to believe it won't happen, I think it's a done deal. United would be daft to miss out on Jose. LVG isn't exactly pulling up any trees, he's been pretty poor and Jose is the big name that United need. I don't really see what they would be achieving by keeping LVG. Let's hope United are that dumb.

Let's hope United are that dumb. Van Gaal has also spent an absurd amount of money. An astonishing £200 million more than Moyes did Say what you will about Moyes and Wenger, they are good at spending with restraint. I wonder if winning the FA Cup triggers a clause in van Gaal's contract that makes him more expensive to sack.
May 17, 201610 yr Will be a great watch for sure. I just hope we're amongst the teams challenging, otherwise it won't be such a great watch. Edited May 17, 201610 yr by enigma
May 17, 201610 yr Jose apparently in talks with PSG. Could force United's hand. I don't think United want him tbh, I think there are people within the club who do but I also think there are those that don't because of the baggage he brings aswell as his poor record bringing through youth talents. I think PSG is a much better fit for him in all honesty.
May 17, 201610 yr psg will ask him to win them the champion's league, and it's one last hurrah in a new league for him until he rides off into the sunset and tries his hand at management at international level. it would make perfect sense, and a piece of me thinks he probably doesn't want to manage in the premier league again with all the stress and pressure by media, fans etc. he lives in london and paris is a short train ride. May 17, 201610 yr I disagree. He's stated numerous times he wants to stay in the PL and not another one team league. That said, he might be forced into it.

May 20, 201610 yr Rumours that LVG will move upstairs and Jose will take over in the summer. I think how he does in the FA cup will determine his future.
May 20, 201610 yr all this talk of jose at utd is just boring now. jose should just say he will go there and be done with it.
May 20, 201610 yr I have a feeling the board are split on Jose and so are hesitant to sack LVG until they have everyone bought in. My gut says Charlton is saying 'no no no no NOOOOOO'
