Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea

Felt a bit sorry for the bloke yesterday early in the game, he was desperate to make an impression, thankfully he took his goal and then looked a little more composed.

I'd like to see him get more chances if we are leading comfortably in a game especially.

Yeah that was my take on it, he was trying too hard early on. There were a couple of times when he really should have passed for a clear goal chance for someone else, but instead trying to force his way through and ended up losing out. I hope he stays and gets more pitch time, he needs to know any appearance isn't a make or break for him, and he needs match fitness.

Maybe I was watching the wrong game but I thought he was pretty good. A good goal and an assist and was lively throughout. What more were people expecting? 10 goals?

Uhm?

You spoke my mind.
He was so desperate to score in that game and that affected his game. If he was more relaxed, he might have scored more than one. But I don't blame him, I blame the manager for rarely giving him chances in games we have already one even from the first half. And Mitchy knows he is in a big team. He know that if he doesn't find a way to score goals even though he is not getting game time soon, he will end up going out on loan and eventually out of the team just like Debruyne and Lukaku.
He doesn't want to follow that path, that was why he was trying too much against Peterborough. And i think I felt pity for him that moment he was with the ball and there were about two defenders with him and then he tried to force his way past them to score just like Costa usually does.

But then isn't this a big part of the problem, rather than being calm and mature when playing he's too desperate to score so plays selfishly rather than for the team?

If Batshuayi is not carrying out the manager's instruction or fully understanding them then the manager isn't going to pick someone.

And in football, a game is never won in the first half, look at how quickly the recent Bournmouth vs Arsenal game turned on its' head.

Again, maybe this is a problem, maybe Batshuayi is too obsessed with scoring goals rather than contributing to the team as a whole. A striker doesn't have to score goals to play well. Drogba was a fantastic example of this, he would often have brilliant games without scoring a goal.

Maybe there's no problem, ForeverCarefree?

When you spend £33m on a player and he's restricted to bit part appearances or run outs against lower league opposition it's fair to speculate that there is a problem of sorts.

Do we look at the manager who has got every member of the squad performing to a higher standard than they did last season with the exception of Batshuayi?

Or do we maybe look at why Batshuayi is the exception?

That 33m is no problem for a club as Chelsea, ForeverCarefree.

And maybe we can give the kid more chances then just one game? I forgot how many minutes?

I think Drogba was almost sold or loaned out when he struggled initially.
And I don't know about you, but if I were in Mitchy's shoes, and I look at what happened to Debruyne and Lukaku when they fail to hit the ground running early on. And then I got a rare chance against Peterborough, while hearing rumours I might go out on loan yet I love my present team and want to stay, sorry bro, I can't be calm playing that sort of game. Because Mitchy never knows if that's the last game the manager will give him to prove he is good enough to stay at club. And in football nothing is guaranteed, so if Mitchy was being calm and waiting for the perfect opportunity to score in the game and then he got a serious injury! That might be the end. He will only continue his life somewhere else thinking or regretting not being more desperate right from the beginning of the match.
You just got to feel for him!

Chances are earned.

Other members of the current squad have been able to impress Conte enough to be given chances, Chalobah being one of the best examples.

I'm not writing Batshuayi off, there's clearly talent there.

But rather then make excuses for him or feel sorry for him I prefer to question what he's (not) doing to limit he's playing time.

Conte has been more than willing to give players a chance (see Moses, Chalobah) so why not Batshuayi?

I don't know.

You should ask Conte.

Just notice on this topic some nervous reactions.

Chances are earned? No. Not agree. I can give you an example if you want?

I understand your point, but what if Conte just doesn't like Batshuayi? Don't forget Conte is a human like us!
I don't know Batshuayi personally, but anytime I see him on TV, I see someone who thinks he is fortunate to be at a big club like Chelsea. Someone who wants to stay here as long as possible. So if there is anything preventing him from getting game time, he will be desperate to get rid of it as soon as possible.
But if there is one thing I learned in 2016, it's the fact that if a manager doesn't want you in his team, commitment, reputation etc won't change the manager's mind. Mikel is a good example.
What I personally think is that Mitchy is good player. He has the quality to keep him here. But unfortunately the manager doesn't like him. And to make matters worse for Mitchy, Costa is scoring regularly so nobody can question the manager about why Mitchy isn't getting 5 minutes in games we are winning 4 or 3 nil.

Don't believe that, Wallosh. Never heard about it or read something that there's a problem.

On te contrary. The international press has written Batshuayi did well.

'Una squadra vincente non si dovrebbe mai cambiare', says Conte. He has right!

For this moment.

Are you the Official Belgian Players Defence force, or is it a hobby?

Honestly I don't know what the problem is between Conte and Mitchy but that's my opinion.

No.

I have already (wrote) written you that many times before. I'm a hard working man. I don't have the time for other players on other topics. It's not even possible to watch the Belgian topics every day. But when I do, I always read the same people writing the same reactions and troll news. Always the same three, four members. (I don't mention you, ForeverCarefree.) With always the same member likes. That's something strange for real died hard fans, I believe. So f**king negative, all the time. Don't even know if they are real Chelsea fans? It's still a forum, you know. Don't know if that happens in other topics, too? Not in mine, I know for sure. And not in the Musical Connection topic. So, it must be something of coincidence, dkw! Karma.

The Official Belgian Players Defence force?

Now, that's a good idea! Immediately! (But not for free. Paid per hour and free tickets. With food and drinks.)

Hobby?

No. My hobby is running naked in my garden.
