If there's a chance we lose Hazard, I want to go for Dembele. Guy is an exceptional talent -- probably will be better than Hazard in a few years time if he progresses at the rate he is now.

If Costa does go to China for a crazy fee I would like to see.

I think he is talking about ousmane dembele from dortmund. I wouldn't say his statement is ridiculously outlandish if that were the case tbh. 

Dembele and a young hazard are very similar players, exciting dribbles, 2 footed. Whether or not dembele develops to be better than hazard is obviously debatable, although I don't think there is much between dembele now and a 19 year old hazard, in fact you could argue dembele looks better.

If we lose Costa and hazard, for nearly 100 mill each, Willian or Cesc linked with big moves away, maybe Courtois + the 60 mill we got for Oscar, and the normal 50-75 mill we spend maybe each summer, the total is frightening, maybe Conte wants to fashion the team as a new build, that is then his team.....?

I wouldn't say his passing as a weakness, its pretty good for a defender. In the air yes but i feel just how much is exxagarated and certainly doesn't warrant losing his place or getting shafted to RWB to accomdate Zouma, that's the defensive equivalent of shafting prime Henry out wide and putting Lukaku up top because he is better in the air.

Right. Might as well ask the entire coaching staff and the youth team to be sold as well. Throw in the training ground while you're at it mate.

No reason we should suddenly become a selling club in 1 summer. Who cares about money received? We're trying to win the CL next season. We should be getting better, not depleting the team.

Costa's gone but Hazard isn't getting sold for at least another year. It's as simple as that. Cesc won't leave this summer either. No point imagining scenarios that won't happen.

Hazard hasn't got any business with the RM presidential elections. That's Perez's problem. I get the feeling Hazard wants one last shot at a CL with us, and he has alluded to that a lot in his recent comments. Perez will get De Gea this summer, not Hazard. Doesn't mean they won't make a bid this summer but I expect Hazard to hold on (whether via convincing from Roman and co or whatever means) for 1 more year. Time will tell if I'm right of course. :)

But its not a co-incidence that Ronaldo (2009) and Bale (2013), both were bought in the years of elections at RM. You are right in saying that this is not Hazard's problem, its Perez's, but Hazard might be the solution to his problems as again buying a world class superstars may keep him in his job.

You're also forgetting that De Gea is also a world class superstar. Not only is he arguably the 2nd best GK in the world behind Neuer, he was also born in Madrid and is Spain's number 1 GK for the national team. He's pretty much as big a signing as Hazard would be. He'd cost them around 70m as well. And the rumours about that transfer have gained a lot of steam recently. It's one of the reasons the Courtois rumours died out (apart from the player himself rubbishing it). Perez's big signings aren't only in election year either (James - 2014) so if he can get a De Gea this summer, I'm sure he wouldn't mind coming back in for Hazard next summer.

Hazard won't be sold this Summer, no way. Only way he will go is if they pay £150 mil. We don't need to sell and we don't often sell.

Costa I feel is already off.

Do we really need to spend money on a central defender with Christensen, Ake and Zouma in the squad? I'd much rather develop them especially seeing that Christensen and Ake are both comfortable playing in a back three and Zouma is still regarded as one of the top young talents in the world and with Conte working with him he could really flourish into a world class defender in a year or two.

I don't think that Conte rates Zouma. Ake will be great as he has proven in the PL. Christensen is a great talent, although unproven in PL. I definitely think another central defender will be purchased.

I agree that we would probably sign another one. I would have just preferred if we stuck it out with what we had until January at least. Christensen will take time to adapt to the PL but he is readymade to play in the UCL and as you said Aké is ready for the big time. I feel Zouma must be given a chance to prove himself before we spend money, especially because we have the 3rd best defense in the league and the fact that we conceded 9 of our 29 goals (thats 31%) in the 6 games before we switched to a back 3.

I like Ake, but he's too short to be a CB in the EPL. I wouldn't mind him staying because I think he's got great potential but I'm not sure what his best position is.

He is a bit taller than Azpilicueta and has proved he is no pushover. I don't think his height is such a problem.

Azpi has Cahil and Luiz playing next to him and still there were occasions when the opponents targeted his lack of size. I wouldn't want to play with Azpilicueta and Ake in the center of our defense, it's a suicide, every team will be looking to exploit it.

Despite his goal return this season would prefer we offer Cahill to Southampton for van Dijk tbh. Cahill has done nothing wrong this season but he can't have many years left at the top. Although he's played fewer games van Dijk's goal average is just as good as Cahill's (not to mention I think van Dijk is better defensively).

I'd like to see us buy an Asian player because we don't have any and they need more representation.
