I like Ake, but he's too short to be a CB in the EPL. I wouldn't mind him staying because I think he's got great potential but I'm not sure what his best position is.

Fabio Cannavaro who won a Balon d'Or playing at CB was 5'9. Mascherano at Barca is also 5'9. You don't need to be a giant to play at CB. Granted someone as short Verratti would be at a great disadvantage but 5'9 is good enough if the talent, awareness and physicality is there and Ake is 5'11. I understand your concern but if he really is cut out for football at the top level, height is not a problem.

Despite his goal return this season would prefer we offer Cahill to Southampton for van Dijk tbh. Cahill has done nothing wrong this season but he can't have many years left at the top. Although he's played fewer games van Dijk's goal average is just as good as Cahill's (not to mention I think van Dijk is better defensively).

That is never going to happen (neither should it even happen) and you know it. :laugh2:

I don't want that fat oaf Lukaku back here. Lazy and doesn't have half the attitude Didier had. Didier shat all over his wannabe talent.

I'd like to see us buy an Asian player because we don't have any and they need more representation.

To be fair, Didier was a bit of a whiny c**t when he first came here. All that diving and what not was extremely infuriating. I think he grew into his own and got some maturity after a few seasons. The Didier that won us the double and the CL isn't the same Didier that arrived in 2004.

I must admit I wondered why we had spent 24 million on Drogba at first. He was like Bambi on ice first few games. At the time I think he was the same age as Lukaku is now.

I can't tell if you're a good troll or just a dim person. . . bravo

Why would that make me either of the options you said? :face_palm:

There are some excellent Asian players out there and it would help us further increase our market presence within that region = ££££££ --> ergo even more transfer money for other targets.

I didn't say he had to be a first team player. Who's the dim person?

Unless it was the Lukaku fat oaf comment you took issue with, in which case you are definitely wrong.

Alright chief :JC_doubleup:

It was indeed about the fat oaf comment, though the asian player comment is equally dim. We have a massive asian presence already, we should not be targeting a player for those reasons, we saw with Miazga that it's pointless when they're sh*te.

Also here's a photo of 'fattie' lukaku for reference. If you tell me you're in better shape than that then i'll admit i was wrong

Look at those fat rolls around the back of the neck. Disgraceful.

Fat oaf was directed more towards the fact he's lazy getting around the pitch, much like fatties.

Miazga wasn't pointless. He's helped us already make more inroads across the USA, culminating in more US based fan groups being set up and increased presence at our Summer games over there when we play them.

You think small time, not strategically.

Fixed that there for you.

Again, can you please direct me to some evidence that signing Miazga led to bigger crowds at our US games?

I don't think small time, I think football.. Over and out . .

Cannavaro played in Italy and Mascherano plays in La Liga. They don't have to deal with long ball football tactics on a regular basis. Even a lump like Andy Caroll can create problems for great technical defenders because he can dominate air duels.

Tibo

Azpi-Luiz-VVD

Moses-Kante-Marchisio-Alonso

Sanchez-Hazard

Lukaku

Remaining Squad: Bego, Pedro, M. Antonio, Ake, Baba, Fabregas, RLC, Morata, Cahill, Willian, Chalobah, Musonda, T. Kane, E. Carvalho

I would be fairly happy with this team/Squad come next season

What a bizarre statement to make. Why sign a random player and ruin their career when we already have a large Asian following. We should only be looking at signing players that will make an impact in the team.

Get Defoe in for a season on a free transfer. 15 goals in the bottom side is a cracking record, scored goals all his career.

Decent shout, would he be content to play second fiddle to someone though? I reckon he'll be off to one of the newly promoted clubs to be their main striker

yes Lewandowski

no Lukaku

got a new found respect for Defoe after all his work with that sick kid and tbf he's been pretty good of late

If I'm not mistaken you're hoping we........sign Lewandoski from Bayern? Or what does "yes Lewandoski" mean?

Kante got absolutely mauled by Wanyama and I would not want to rely on winning second balls every game. At least Matic has some presence and makes it somewhat difficult for opposition midfielders to win aerial duels. If it was just Kante and Verratti they would get towered over and it would really make things difficult for us. We'd lose possession after most goal kicks and we'd struggle defending set pieces.

I really like the look of Bakayoko. He's a monster. He's only 22 years old and has been Monaco's most important player this season. He can dribble, pass, tackle and intercept. Reminds me of a prime Yaya Toure.

Dele Alli can't fit in our formation and am no longer a fan of Auba.
Remember Cuadrado never had his chance as a wing back, he might be world class.

I think Bakayoko is awesome and Chelsea should go all out to get him. He is a far better player and DM'er than Naingollan. Bakayoko also reminds me of a young Yaya Toure but a better defender than Toure. At only 22 I would love to see him coached and brought on by Conte. Considering the defensive set up Conte brought in and developed for Juve before taking the Italian national team, I am so looking forward to this summer and seeing how Conte develops OUR defence. I hope Bakayoko is our equal number one target along with a Costa replacement (if he does go). Personally I hope it is Moratta and not Lukaku as I think the latter is over rated, over hyped and over priced.

He would be on decent money playing for a team in the Champions league fighting for trophies. Chelsea won't try to sign him but I thought he might be a handy player in a time where good reserve strikers are hard to come by. Abit like when Drogba returned or Sheringham.

I think your right about one of the promoted clubs.

Inn: Van Dijk (50mil) , Isco (50mil), Morata (50mil), Sanchez (40mil), Ghoulam (15mil)

Out: Costa (75mil), Batshuayi (30mil), Traore (15mil), "Oscar (60mil)"

Balance: -25mil
