Is it just me or is there a general lack of quality in European international sides at the moment? 

Maybe it's just nostalgia but there used to be a few sides that even if they didn't perform well in the competition the team was stacked with stars. 

I look at the teams in the Euros and outside of the France squad and maybe to a lesser extent Germany and Portugal there's barely a squad I look at and think "wow". 

I actually think it the computer games generation coming to bite us.

On the flip sometimes it takes the knockout stages for the real talent to be revealed.

Watching Portugal and Hungary.

Portugal have a strong team yet struggling to create good chances and the couple they have had, they wasted and that includes one for Ronaldo.

Hungary look sharp though are defending in numbers and trying to counter attack.

Quite physical at times though just one yellow against Portugal.

Ronaldo is the best European player of all time but I can't help to feel that he didn't really deserve 2 goals here.

I see a pattern in the Euros, all smaller football nations like Hungary, Sweden, Croatia, Finland just park the bus against the bigger nations but none of them look as effective as Greece was in 2004.

I heard a short time back a criticism not sure if it was Hoddle or even someone like Joe Cole, that said with the FA coaching it was like painting by numbers instead of encouraging individual talent.

@ForeverCarefree Try to make a point about the computer game generation though probably now should stay social media generation, instead of staying late and practising they are all off to see how many likes they get on twitter or instagram.
