Think I'll watch the City game 2nd half...sadly don't see Newcastle making a come back.

First half was really good. City [obviously] having the vast majority of possession but Leicester have defended well and countered dangerously. Both sides playing well.

Harvey Barnes has just hit the bar!

It was a good effort...shame Vardy was a fraction offside for the disallowed goal.

I think it was a brilliantly cynical move of the Premier League / FA / whoever decides what the match broadcasts look like to not include any of the VAR decision-making on-screen. I've also noticed that the commentators are tending to refer to it as the 'video assistant' rather than 'VAR'.

It a) doesn't give viewers an opportunity to see how the decisions are being made, b) doesn't allow them to form their own opinions on the incident using anything bar the couple of replays the broadcast gives you (which are often at unhelpful angles) and c) sweeps the whole process into the background so people forget it's happening.

For the disallowed Vardy goal I only saw the live footage (in which I didn't notice he was off) and a single replay, in which I think his shoulder was marginally off but can't be certain due to insufficient evidence.

An effective (if not rather dishonest) way to get people to stop moaning. Unless of course we see the actual screens the referees are using of course!
