Gabriel Slonina

Chelsea to ‘reignite interest’ in teenage goalkeeping sensation Gabriel Slonina

As a fellow yank, really hope we get this over the line. 18 year old GK phenom who genuinely has no weakness about him. Has the potential to reach Courtois levels in goal keeping + the distribution of Ederson. Personally hope we can finalise a deal and send him on loan until he's ready to take over Mendy.

Absolutely devastating news. His handling is poor but noone is doing what hes doing at his age, Real are snapping up all the youngsters we were after.

Nothing is different now in any of these countries than ours. The window isn't open yet and there is nothing stopping us talking to these people in the same way RM are doing

Baxter, Cumming, and Slonina.

3 promising young GKs who all have pretty high potential. Not sure what the plans are for them if Slonina is signed.

I suspect they will all be loaned Out never to play for us. It would be absolutely typical if this is our first signing. Nothing against the lad but is this going to be  Boehly's entrance

Doesn’t make much sense. Slonina is also in pursuit of being the starting GK for USA so this would be a bad move.

We have two established goalkeepers and hes not getting no where near those until hes tried at a competitive level e.g. anything other than the MLS.

He'll be bought and loaned out for sure, one for the future. Hopefully gets a good loan to a premiership/championship club.

Kepa should be sold. Both he and us need that to happen.

Baxter should stay and compete with Marcus B for the number 2 shirt.

Cumming sold and Slonina loaned out if he signs.

Bettenelli shouldn't be anywhere near the number 2 spot. If he plays any game of real note I'll be watching from behind the sofa.

Rumour is he’s gonna be loaned back to Chicago.

I hope not, feels like a wasted season. Get him in a french or championship team if possible. Or put him on the bench for a season and try him out.

He will be available January 2023. He will finish off the MLS season I’d imagine.

If we sign this guy that's the final excuse to keep Pulisic (American market) gone.

Sign him up!

Well the US has actually produced 2 quality keepers that I know of, Howard and Friedel. Maybe this guy can be as good or maybe better than them.

On another note @Argo I am not sure whether your love of CHO is greater or lesser than your dislike of CP.

Then Baxter should win that battle comfortably.

Sooner we shift Kepa the better. Should be in our top 3 priorities of departures along with Lukaku and Werner.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to sign and loan him out in Europe to see how he develops. It's clear that Kepa will never be No.1 here and needs to be sold ASAP. Mendy is commanding in the air  and a good shot stopper but hesitant with the ball at his feet. If this guy can develop into an elite GK then definitely can replace Mendy in 2-3 years.

what happened to Madrid? the kid really reminds me of a young Courtois at Genk, same sort saves that he pulls off

he could just as well stay for one more season in Chicago

then he can be loaned out to a team in Europe

did the US qualify for the world cup? maybe he can go with them as a third goalkeeper

I think we can show him how we developed Courtois. Very similar situation, Cech as undisputed number one, signed at young age and loaned out only to return and win PL and become one of the best goalkeepers in the world

+ Cech himself will be there to keep an eye out for his development.

Just can't loan him somewhere we he will fall in love with the City and find his future spouse....

loan him to Torino and 5 years later he will force a move to their most hated rivals Juventus

I'd say keep him in Premier league or England if all possible.

Send him to a terrible Championship team were he will have a lot of work to do
