Indeed. Why cannot Slonina be our number 1 next season?

It’s the stockpiling. If Slonina is a future player as the club has said why sign Maignan who is also a long term investment?

Aye, same way as to why spend 80mill on Moises when we have Hall, Santos, Casadei and Carney all waiting for game time.

Price is a big problem here. 80mill for him, 60mi for Onana.

All the while Milan go back on their word and apparently pull out of the RLC deal while saying 20mill is too much for CP.

While Inter want to loan Lukaku for a smaller loan fee and us paying more of his wages.

We made a rod for our own backs paying crazy money for Enzo, Cucurella and Sterling and handing out huge deals to player like Koulibaly.

Clubs look at that and say ok you wanna spend big, this is our price for you.

Players look at it and say 295k for Koulibaly and you want me on 80k with performance bonuses? Do one.

Every deal involving us will be ridiculous whilst McAllister goes for £35m and Cancelo Man City to Arsenal is being talked up at £45m. Joke

Mac Allister's £35m was a release clause. With add-ons it's £50m+.

It's the rod that was made for us by the over enthusiastic start our owners made. They needed to be calm, instead we went like a bull in a China shop.

First window fairly big fees, but only massive outlay on just the one player in Marc. A combined big total but the huge issue was the wages.

Sterling on 330k, Koulibaly on 295k, James renewed at 250k. No incentive based pay or drops.

Next window stupid fees for an unproven Mudryk, a very good player in Enzo but who cost just 10mill 6 months ago, and an overall huge outlay. That plus huge expense just to loan Felix for 6 months.

So clubs can come out and say hey you spent big on Cucrella and Mudryk and out player is better than them. Players can say why did you give James, Sterling and Koulibaly such deals and change your ways 6 months later?

We needed a plan from the get go, be consistent. All the messing around and changing approach is making this summer task so, so difficult.

We seem to be linked with all the keepers that Cech passed over when he recommended Mendy.

I doubt either Onana or Maignan will be any improvement on what we have already.

The only one that really appeals to me is Emiliano Martinez, mainly for his personality and attitude. Villa probably wouldn't sell him though LOL

Onana has a lot of personality as well

and he would be an improvement. Onana doesn't get nervous. he has an insane amount of confidence and calm at the same time. Similar to Ederson although yesterday i thought for the first time i saw him be nervous and a bit shaky

he's 19.

and has never played a competitive match at this level. We still have no idea what man he is going to turn out to be, For all we know this is already his ceiling. If its not he needs to be developed correctly.
