Nicolas Jackson - striker

Even Poch failed to really bring Nkunku in the XI after the team was fully settled with Palmer being the main guy. They are chemistry negative together and there have been several instances this season that being the case. Look at Brighton away.

I've also yet to see anything from Nkunku where we can indefinitely say his knee injury hasn't effected him, because he lost all his dynamism.

I don’t disagree.

The counter is that we do not play a system where dynamism can shine. Slow, turgid, stagnant build up play - is not exactly a platform for dynamic play.

This was also true under poch. Go back and watch the tail end of last season when Chris was not injured - and we were playing absolute dross. The game against forest (which we won) is a perfect snapshot of where we were, and how we continued ….

It is the managers job to find a way to get the best out of all our best players - I don’t accept that good players (Jimmy annd eidur; lamps and gerrard, Messi and Neymar, chris and Palmer) can’t play together.

Edit: dig at Jackson - it is his thread after all. The fact that Jackson plays the same (headless chicken, bull in a china shop, excitable puppy without training) no matter who else plays or who the manager is, says more about his lack of brain and ability to misunderstand instructions than it does about his skillset

Good players normally have talent that shine through any stubborn system. Mata played in a defensive system yet was our best player two seasons running. Caicedo was on an island by himself under Poch 90% of the season, yet was still pulling up some insane numbers for a midfielder.

Nkunku at ST, CAM, or at LW/LF he hasn't shown anything. Can't pick a pass, can't beat a man, makes brazen decisions when he has the chance to shoot, and offers virtually nothing off the ball. It's funny you continue to criticize Jackson when Nkunku is sitting right beside him in the list of players who have worse attacking movement than our LB, Cucurella.

It’s because Nkunku thrives being a second striker in a 3-5-2 system with the other striker being physical

He doesn’t suit being a lone forward at all then again he checked out because he wants out the club it’s clear to see he doesn’t give a s***. The system is obviously making it harder for him to do anything.

Back to Jackson he’s good but not willing enough and doesn’t have that striker instinct, I would convert him into a LW whilst rotating at this point and get a proper number 9 to actually get us scoring goals and becoming a threat again

It boils down to past experiences:

Have Neto or Nkunku ever had a run similar to this in their Chelsea careers? For Neto you can include his entire football career. I defend players based on past experiences, you defend players based on hypotheticals.

Not sure why Sancho has been included within your brackets either.

Why you haven't you included the other 8 EPL games he played in after Brentford, (up to the point he got injured), where he never scored any goals?

He didn't get injured until West Ham on 3rd February. So, 9 goals in six months of EPL appearances? Hardly, Halaand or Shearer stats is it?

Comparable, I'd say.

Don't think you understand my position. I don't care if we were 2nd in the league, top of the league or bottom of the league.

As I have said on the Maresca threads, I am happy to forgo immediate results, and sacrifice that for what I think are the long term best interests of the club.

That means, I want a manager who finds a system and style that suits our best players. Its not about individual selections for individual games...And I will happily take short term pain (bad results and near misses) for the journey of implementing a style and system that gets us there in the long term. I have already said who I think those best 4 players are.

Edit: and in case not clear - The fraudulent, perverted, donkey c**t would not be in the squad in anyway shape or form. I would literally play anyone else than him up front. Including Maureen the tea lady.

Nkunku has shown time and time again he isn't in the conversation for one of our best players though. This would be like expecting Tuchel to build the squad around Werner after showing nothing for 2 years because he scored a few goals in Germany.

Did you read the post? I recommend going back and reading it again. My point wasn't about how good he was all season, my point is he had an elite 3 months and showed he can do it, something other players have never done in England. Same reason we don't judge Palmer based on his form since Christmas either.

Yeah, we've really missed what Jackson brings to the team, which is..........................................................(give me a few days and I might come up with something).

Jesus, how bad we have become when we are pinning our hopes on an average player like Jackson. This season really is our very own annus horribilis.

This is the crux of the problem really. As poor as Jackson has been lately, every alternative we have available is significantly worse. (I'm sure I made this same point a couple of months ago).

It's inept squad planning to the point of vandalism. The Visigoths have nothing on BlueCo, Stewart and Winstanley.

This.

This has been going for two seasons now. You can dislike Jackson all you want but he is our best st by a mile.

Then here is a thought….

If the best option, in the current system/style is a player that we all agree is not good enough, then perhaps the answer is to change the system/style.

Said it multiple times - but if Jackson is the answer, then we are asking the wrong questions.

who's better?

At what?

Shooting - everyone in our squad

Heading - everyone in our squad

Footballing IQ - everyone in our squad

Controlling the ball, and not letting it bounce off them - most in our squad (not sure about baddy Sanchez

Passing - most in our squad - not Sanchez for sure.

Running around aimlessly like a headless chicken - very few - he is elite at this particular skill set.

And this is why no one takes what you say seriously.

Sigh…. Oh well.

I think that most people on here agree that Jackson is rubbish, or at the very least not good enough to lead the line for Chelsea. You seem to be an outlier in consistently arguing that Jackson is good or at the very least should play.

But wherever an individual sits on the spectrum (Ranging from “The c**t donkey is utter sh*t” to “the poor chap is not good enough”) it doesn’t really matter…. The end result is the same.

You asked me a question. I answered. You didn’t like the answer. That’s fine. But it doesn’t change the fact that the general consensus remains that - at best- Jackson isn’t good enough to lead the line for Chelsea. He should therefore be dropped.

Jim, take a break man... you've been waiting to spit your bile since Jackson got injured...

After more than 12 months of this, it is you who looks like a thick, uneducated donkey, it is pathetic you cant get closure on a man who plays for a club you support.

Go run a glory hole or something you hysterical queen..

Thought you had me on ignore?

And no thanks - all the time people defend this clown, I will continue to call him out. Reported your post for nonsense about Gloryholes. Try to keep it civilized and relevant.

Do you think he is good enough to lead the line for Chelsea?

Most people on here agree that Jackson is the best option we have this season and was the best option we had last season. I ask who should be starting up front and you duck the question and start listing tea ladies. That might be funny on SNL in the States but its just boring for everyone else. Have a reasoned conversation.

You still haven't answered who he should be dropped for. Show us your preferred line up.

Sadly, despite blocking you, I can see some of your bile in the latest comments.

I dont blame Jackson being asked to lead the line for us. He has many merits and I'm looking around the squad and wondering who could do it? There isnt, therefore, Jackson leads the line and despite all your illogical nasty bile laden rants, Jackson still plays as striker.

Does this make you feel inferior or make you feel stupid that despite more than 12 months of shelling out abuse as a anti-CFC player hater he's still leading the line for us...

In his absence who stepped up and led the line out of our entire squad?

Yeah, nobody.

The show must go on, your glory hole opens in an hour so best go get yourself ready...

It's an odd one. You said it yourself - he's an athletic player and someone not particularly comfortable playing with little space. You'd think our 'horizontal' style would be as poor a fit for Jackson as Ben Houchen's trousers after a rubber chicken.

Come on UB, you are not a stupid person - I have answered your question multiple times already.

He should be dropped for ANYONE else that we have at the club. I can’t say it more categorically.

As I said multiple times, if the answer is “Nicolas Jackson” then you are asking the wrong questions. If you genuinely believe that Jackson is our best striker (he isn’t) then you need to change the style and system and play without a striker.

More gloryhole nonsense…. What on earth is wrong with you!? We are here talking about how good or bad a player is, and you are going off topic bringing up this utter nonsense.
