António João Pereira de Albuquerque Tavares da Silva

CB, 20 y/o, Benfica.

Rumors are we are one of the clubs interested in him.

6'2 defender is valued around 40m, the reports say his price could be over 80m.

Think he was the player our scouts were watching over the weekend, with Romano saying we aren't interested in Gyökeres.

No doubt a talented defender but do we really want him being the one to replace Thiago Silva?

Arsenal and Man United also in the rumors about him, I don't want to see another Ruben Dias going to the PL but not to CFC.

Antonio is nowhere near as good as Dias was when he left. If we also want to be passing out the back, having someone like Antonio is going to cause problems.

All at LCB though.

Fofana I'm convinced is f**ked.

If both CB's are good it doesn't matter if they are both left footed.

I don't mind giving up on Fofana but it should be for someone with more experience, not another young CB.

Sure he's not as good as Dias but he could become, possibly... I didn't notice that he was a bad passer or something like that.

I didn't say he was a bad passer, it's just not one of his strengths. He is more of a John Terry type defender with more speed than a progressive ball playing CB.

I personally think Inacio would be a better option.

He was scouted as well.

I personally just want the best defender. Passing is a plus.

In that case Antonio Silva is better.

Terry was a great passer of the ball? Can't think of many CB's as confident playing with both feet out from the back.

If we are going for him  pre the euros is the time. If he plays well the price will go up a lot.

Doesn't look like he will start ahead of Inacio, which is silly as he is a better defender in a 4atb.

He’d be my first choice cb if we’re going for a young cb, he’s got the Potential to be special. also a couple of added bonuses, a cb called silva will do something to cure the ache in my heart from Thiago Silva leaving. colwill, fofana, silva are the same nationalities as Terry carvalho and gallas which can only be a good omen surely?
