Lol couldn’t be far away from the truth.. Neto lay the perfect cross on Felix’s head.. and Mudryk ran the length of the field .. took on two players to lay similar for Nkunku..

had Jackson or Madueke missed we would be killing them in here.

Not read the Felix thread I take it? He gets far more stick than Noni does.

I don't think Enzo or Sancho should have started either. Those are two more players I don't want up against a low block. I've said enough about Enzo already, but Sancho is all about precision passes, we don't need that against this type of team. We needed players running at the full back and stretching defenders, which is why Madueke was only one that looked threatening.

Sancho whilst having a decent pass is all about dribbling so I’d much rather he did start against a low block. He wasn’t great today but  I’d still have had him starting 100%.

Disappointing in the end. Should’ve won it, but could easily have lost it. Felix and Nkunku had two great headed chances but fluffed it. In the end, Sanchez had to pull off a couple of great saves to keep it level.

Thought Maresca waited too long to change it up. Especially after we barely managed a shot on target in the first half. Jackson in particular was struggling to get involved against their low block. Mudryk did more than Sancho when he came on and looked threatening. Madueke was causing them most problems, scored a good goal, but was frustrating mostly. Palmer almost pulled off a wonder goal but his through balls to Madueke were largely wasted. Enzo was really poor, from dreadful corners to losing possession in key areas, he just wasn’t at it today.

Overall, a point isn’t a bad result. Forest came with a game plan which we couldn’t counter and if it wasn’t for Sanchez they’d have got all three points. Hope Maresca has learnt something from today.

Bit of a blow to lose both Fofana and Cucurella for the Liverpool game though. Hope Colwill isn’t out for long. He was probably our best player.

Credit to Forest. Came with a game plan, were organized, stuck too it, worked their socks off and deserve their bit of luck from Palmer in the first half and Felix in the second.

Murillo  in particular was impressive.

No issue with the use of "dark arts". We used them in our successful sides, were masters of it.

We worked hard too. No issue with that. Should have won it, Felix must score that chance, keeper was beaten.

Nkunku produced a good header, from a very good cross, that produced a very good save. A very good header would have got us a goal, was too close to the keeper.

Overall I think both of Sanchezs saves in stoppage time were miles better than anything their keeper did, though the Palmer double save was very good. Both the one from Williams and especially the one from Silva were top, top class. Prime Cech levels, well done Rob!

Good start from Maresca, better than I hoped for. Players are working hard for him. That is great to see.

Home form and set pieces, big issues long before he came, still need addressing.

Yes haven’t and maybe you are right on that one.. but still didn’t change the fact that both Mudryk and Neto did indeed provide to glorious chances that should have been finished by us.

I thought that we played well and wouldn't have changed many players from Maresca's starting 11. We have to admit that they were very good defending, very compact and organised, and it's going to be tough for other top 6 teams to beat them. I understand playing Sancho as what we need against low blocks is a bit of tiki-taka, one-two combinations between their tight lines, and Sancho and Palmer were playing that much of the first half. Madueke on the right, would stretch them and get them on the break. For me, with that game plan, Nkunku should have played instead of Jackson, who was mostly absent throughout. The subs came a bit late, Nkunku should have come off at the beginning of the second and Sancho was gassed in the second half and didn't do much, but the alternative there is Mudryk, who is mostly sh*t if not played as a super sub against tired legs.

We should have won it, we had very good chances but they also had good chances. Overall, it's frustrating but, last season we would have lost this game.

The referee completely lost the plot in that second half and let the Forest players waste too much time. The keeper should have been sent off with a second yellow for time wasting, and imo Ward-Prowse should have seen a straight red rather than a second yellow. And I can't believe how much the ref was stopping the game for Forest players going down, I've never seen something like it! Normally, the refs let the game play on and will only stop if there's something major or head injury. Funny to see Palmer throwing himself to the ground out of desperation for all the stopping allowed by the ref!

Good match overall. Don't know how my heart coped towards the end!

Just a few things to note for me..

Do we have a set piece coach? Is he currently on leave? We need to be able to beat the low block, and without getting results on set pieces in those games, we can't. Definitely an area to work on urgently.

Maresca or whoever from the coaching staff that told noni he has 2 feet that he can shoot and/or pass with needs to get back on his case. And maybe work more on the pass aspect too. I stopped counting after 3 chances he had to pass the ball with at leat one team mate in the box. On one occasion he could have passed it to 3 of them just standing there waiting for him! I didn't want to get angry with him, they are all still learning, so I stopped counting after that.

Enzo jnr! I don't know where to start! But ditto what most have said on here. Unfortunately I don't think Lavia is the long term answer as he won't be reliable to last a season without injuries. Our midfield needs addressing urgently too.

Cucu and fofana out of the Liverpool match is a big blow imho. Luckily we have veiga and tosin but if Colwill is out too then its definitely squeaky but time!

Special mention to sanchez and colwill, both deserve motm for that game.

You can also see the inexperience and age with our lot...the dark arts is something they are not used to and to some I guess it just doesn't make sense to them.

These are kids that just want to play, growing up very quickly. The dark arts must be really frustrating to them. There's still a very long road for them before they start getting wise to this type of play. So they need to kill the games off before it gets there.

Which brings us back to full circle...where the fk is our set piece coach!?

Got a point, will take that and be encouraged by the start to the campaign, but defensively we're still awful and Forrest gave us a runaround yesterday down to ten men - reckon if we struggle over the next few league games V Liverpool, Newcastle and United, the knives will be out for players and manager.

A win would of been great but I'm at peace with the draw.

In fact I was impressed with how Forest fought and defended.

We missed 2 big chances at the end but on another day we could have conceded a late goal so it is what it is.

One thing though, I still honestly don't know what Cucurella was booked for, I was under the impression it was for the big scuffle but I've watched it back a couple of times and can't see what he did wrong, unless I totally missed something...

He had a pretty blatant body block just before it all kicked off. As soon as I saw it, I knew he'd be carded. I have no no issues with the call, honestly.

It couldn't have been that, the restart was our throw in. Had to have been something after the ball went out of play, probably dissent at the 4th official.
