Crystal Palace vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 4th January 25 15:00 GMT

A bit worried now that I've seen both team set ups above.

Gusto inverting and cucu playing wingback at times just leaves Caicedo, Colwill and Acheampong cleaning up at the back against mateta, eze and sarr.

I hope our 3 have had their weetabix served in redbull/monster for breakfast and lunch!

No Lavia on the bench. Will he still be "really close" in 10 days time vs Bournemouth?

Fofana certainly needs to be on the scrap heap now, Lavia may well join him there.

Is Cucurella the only signing of the Todd sporting director era that was not a giant waste of time and money?

Alright, here we go again.  Newcastle were 11 points behind Chelsea recently, now level.  How quick things can change.

Tough game today.  Starts with basic desire and workrate - lets see how much they want it.  Palace will frustrate us, with wingbacks pushing our wingers back, long balls behind whichever full back inverts, and flooding the midfield space.

A win would be massive.  With current mood can easily see a draw or loss, but want to be positive.  We didn't get crap overnight - just a bump that all teams have.

But that does mean Spurs lost AGAIN today.

Best of luck to Acheampong today, never seen him at CB before

He is a centre back by trade, played the majority of his youth games there for us, though usually at RB for England i think.

I quite like that Maresca has the balls to put him there rather than fit him at rb.

I read he has played RCB before, I think that is where he will be deployed today.

He deserves his chance, Tosin and Disasi have been garbage.

Would be nice if Guiu had been given his chance given Jackson has been rubbish and Nkunku having had no impact up front.

I am a bit worried. Not sure if this is the game to start the youngster maybe the fa cup would have been better

I do hope I’m wrong and wish him the best of luck as it would be great if he solved the problem for us

Given Delap bullied Tosin, Disasi and Colwill perhaps Big Enz thinks Josh has the physicality to deal with Mateta?

Hmm can West Ham not be garbage and get 3 points to drag themselves closer to United and Spurs?

Nah...

No idea how they’ve accumulated the points they have as West Ham imo are just as bad as Saints every time I’ve watched them.

This has the hallmarks of Ipswich all over it.

Could be, Palace have better players than them imo, with Guhei, Eze and Henderson all very good players, imo.

Mod predicted this to be a high scoring game. Cannot say I see that Mod, Palace will look to keep this tight, and our finishing has not been good of late.
