January 31Jan 31 If I was this kid I would he getting out of here now. He didn’t want to leave his loan and now we don’t seem to have a plan for him

I see no good reason to halt his loan like that. All it's done is hurt our relationship with Anselmino and Dortmund (even if Dortmund were overdramatic about it)

On the flip side, at least Dortmund won’t be able to fleece these clueless sporting directors anymore. Gittens + Bundesliga tax + even if they had someone genuine, our lot wouldn’t have identified them correctly anyway.
February 1Feb 1 Haha BlueCo PR saying they don’t want to loan back to Dortmund after they said they wanted to buy him. Chelsea view Anselmino as a future first team player. All at the same time trying to buy Jacquet and recall Sarr 😂 Edited February 1Feb 1 by Sconnie Blue

Despite a proposal from Premier League, Strasbourg remain favorites to get Anselmino deal done soon. Very strange club. Why would the club pass on an opportunity to loan him to a PL club, and send him to a 2nd rate Ligue 1?
February 1Feb 1 Aaron Anselmino to Strasbourg, here we go! Deal in place over loan until the end of the season. Don’t understand how the club values a player playing for a Top 2 Bundesliga team and getting consistent CL games lower than a Ligue 1 CB. One was wanted permanently by Dortmund, the other was linked to West Ham.

One wanted by a top 2 Bundesliga team, the others only suitor was Forest on loan and our sister club.
February 1Feb 1 Glad we told Dortmund to stick it after they tried tapping up one of our players again, hopefully we don’t do business with them again
February 2Feb 2 So it seems Dortmund have been trying to induce Anselmino to put in a transfer request, after we loaned him to them. they can shove any complaints if thats true.

February 5Feb 5 "Anselmino was reportedly in tears when he left Dortmund". Apparently. I feel sorry for him. I mean he is a young player having a good loan experience in Germany and the club send him to France. Poor bloke. That said. "Anselmino was reportedly in tears when he left Dortmund" and do we really need/want a Centre Back who is a cry baby?

February 5Feb 5 If the tapping rumours are true then I don’t care if Anselmino was distraught at leaving. Club have done the right thing by getting him out of Germany.
February 5Feb 5 Can someone verify those reports, or is it just typical BlueCo PR because we needed to replace Sarr after pump faking yet another transfer target?
February 6Feb 6 5 hours ago, Sconnie Blue said:Can someone verify those reports, or is it just typical BlueCo PR because we needed to replace Sarr after pump faking yet another transfer target? No one can verify them, which is why they make for perfect PR.'Tapping up' is an unenforceable rule except in very specific and very limited circumstances. It is also conveniently vague - what is it that Dortmund are actually have said to have done? Are they not allowed to say things like "wow Anselmino is so good we would like to have him next year provided we can afford him"? Is their coach not allowed to give him positive feedback? Are there players not allowed to compliment him in training? Did they feed him nicer food than his teammates? Did they allow him to have too much fun?Dortmund wouldn't have needed to do anything to convince him other than offer him play time, it is the obvious risk when you loan to other top clubs. Dortmund would still have had to pay the same fees as anyone else interested, and their reported interest would only drive the price up, not down. Hell Dortmund being interested should have automatically signalled that Bayern would be joining the bidding table. Also, Dortmund happily supported him through injury, and given his accelerating injury record selling him back to Dortmund at a profit, with a decent sell-on or buy-back clause, would have been the smart option.BlueCo's handling of this has not just been typically stupid, but also done with the characteristic contempt for players and the sport itself that is now a hallmark of how this club conducts itself with transfers.
