Boro had their chance in the first leg. Completely dominated the first half, Saints weren’t at the races. Boro couldn’t score, story of a lot of their season.

Alonso goes to Liverpool and our best performance in ages gets put into context within six days.

Having said that. It’s not like Alonso would actually make any difference managing us anyway. But he might make Liverpool better though.

Im hoping the owners take pity on Slot a bit. Isak has missed most of the season, Ekitike has ruptured his Achilles, Trent was a vital part of their team and his replacement is in and out with injury.

I have a feeling they will stick*. Injuries aside, they seriously screwed up recruiting, their replacement RB not a RB at all but a part-time attacker. Sacking the title-winning coach so soon will only add to the chaos.

*I have, on the odd occasion, from time to time, been wrong before.
