This isn't bad. It's not even pathetic. It's just sad. Poor little man. Poor little scouser. Poor little t*at.

All the bleeding scousers talk about their history

But for the last few season there's not been much to see

It's a sad excuse to keep talking about what's been done

When at the present there's nothing you've won

There might not be many trophies in the history of Chelsea

But it's our history and blue we are very proud to be

The blue blood will always run deep in our vein

And even if we all go to meet our maker it will still remain

Well all I can say after listening to that cack is thank god our disgusting filthy Russian flavoured lucre is not buying that sanctimonious simplistic twaddle.

Talk about generalisating people and places.

Well at least I've learned something today:

Liverpool is the home of football - the whole world knows it.

Liverpool people are all humble, kind and honest, they don't go around stealing, lying, cheating or beating people up in the street or in football stadiums.

There are no poor people in London, especially in Chelsea and conversely there are no filthy disgusting hugely successful rich people in Liverpool.

People in Chelsea all live in flash houses and people in Liverpool live in humble dwellings.

To have a club history you must have won lots of things - preferably about 20 years ago, otherwise don't even bother being proud of your club's past.

Liverpool should always be respected for no other reason than because of their history, the fact they've been also rans in the league for over half my lifetime it doesn't matter - it's not a case of earning respect for what you achieve now, they must just be respected because of the past - PERIOD.

YOU CANNOT BUY HISTORY but as Jose said you can damn well start making your own and be proud of it.

The home of football, they think they are,

but we know that they'll pinch the wheels of you're car!

If that is the home, then it's not my house,

I'd rather be Chelsea than live as a scouse.

You go on about history, so let us tell all,

of you contribution to English football.

First there was Sheffield, it was everyones fault,

but not for the fans and the fences they'd vault.

The ticketless masses stood at the gates,

they made up excuses to get with their mates.

To appease the 'mob' the police abbliged,

and opened the gates where the 93 died.

The leagues that you've won,

and the finals you've lost,

But left all the others counting the cost!

You went there as champions to play in Hysel,

but left there as the shame of English football!!!!!

You say we've no history compared to you,

but we've won 3 title's, although we bought 2! icon_wink.gificon_lol.gif

Houllier and Rafa, the've had the funds,

but both of them spunked it on more 'also runs'

I'd rather be Chelsea and stand there with pride,

than steal someone's ticket who's stood by my side.

I never thought I'd see us finish first,

I suppose thats the thing that hits you the worst!

The title's for reds and the blues are for tears,

but you aint won the league for 20 odd years,

Now you've spent the money we'll see how it ends,

but I'd rather Russian than American firends icon_wink.gif

Oh, and in the south we don't turn to poetry just becasue the dock's are closed.

Of course history does have several meanings, and this one is fitting:

"something no longer important: something that belongs to the past and is no longer important"

or perhaps

somebody no longer important: somebody who has suffered total loss of power, high position, or importance

We won every domestic trophy and a european trophy before LFC- those are historical facts.

Our biggest home attendance is way above that at the home of football.

Our average attendance is only just lower than theres and our capacity as been smaller than theres for many years. And they have been far more successful in that time. If they want history lessons lets start with the 75 baron years before they were took over by one of the richest families in Britain- lets forget the 15-20yrs when to be fair they were one of the best teams in the world and move on the the last 15-20yrs when the have been an average cup side at best.

You would think they might be optimistic about the future but they are so sad to keep harping on about the past- its like a Preston or a Huddersfield fan(teams who were great MANY YEARS AGO) trying to tell you there the best team in the country(because of history), its laughable.

Its a shame they dont learn from history then we would'nt have almost had a repeat of Hillsborough in Athens this year. Money does'nt buy history just like success on the pitch does'nt bring class of the pitch, grown men robbing tickets out of fellow fans(childrens) hands. LFC-you can keep it.

i wont bother pointing out the errors in that, as I think you already know them really. Havent heard the poem from the clip as i dont have sound at work, but i can imagine it will be cringworthy, but just one thing for you to think of, only one british club has won a european trophy this century, and they dont wear blue... our history is worthy of comment, but so is our present.

Personally I don't care about how many trophies a club has won when it comes to discussing their history. This is the point that seems to totally evade most Liverpool fans when they bang on about history. If the only clubs with 'history' were those that could boast notable silverware then the vast majority of clubs (including those that have been around for a very very long time) have no history whatsoever. And if they have no history then I wonder how it is that when I pick up a book about British football I see their names littered throughout it.

For example PNE are 12 years older than Liverpool and achieved somehting Liverpool can never achieve, they were a founder member of the football league. yet they have only wo 2 FA Cups and haven't won the top league since 1890 - so do they have 'no history'?

The idea that you only have history if you are successful is born out of a combination of arrogance and a fairly childish outlook.

Every club has history, both bad and good. It is a sign of maturity to be able to celebrate the good and also acknowledge the bad - this is where far too many Liverpool fans and staff fall down.

dont disagree with you entirely Loz, but celevrating a clubs history is very different to accepting that a club has one. The idea that all clubs have a history worth celebrating is nonsensical. All clubs that have been around for a number of years will have some things that they can be very proud of, but not necesarily worth celebrating publically. All this seems to stem from our song about you, which you get very uspet about, but in relation to us, you dont have much history to 'celebrate'. perhaps the song should be re-worded but it is a football song and its purpose is to celebrate our club while belittling yours, its football banter, that is all. We have a long history of sustained success, and although we have not won the league for a long while, something that does upset us, we have still been successful in that time. We have won more trophies than any other english team, and more european cups than all but 2 of the clubs in Europe, if this is not worth celebrating then what is the point is winning things in the first place, for the players win bonuses only?

The point is Rob, is that your history is something we and the rest of the world never stop hearing about. And one thing that everyone not connected with Anfield is sick to death of having rammed down their throats. But then many of us realise, your constant harping on about your precious bloody history is merely a tactic to disguise the fact that you haven't won the League for .. how many years is it now? For the past 4 or 5 years at least, we've been hearing how this will be Liverpool's year, how this season they are ready to make a genuine sustained challenge for the title. Well it hasn't happened yet, has it. And I'll tell you something elsse - it ain't gonna happen this season either.

I think if a fan is truly enshrined in their club then they will feel their history is worth celebrating irrespective of games and trophies won. If your club's history is only worth celebrating when you have actually won a trophy then why do so many people show up week in week out to watch clubs that everyone knows don't have a chance in hell of actually winning anything.

Also if there is an obsession with only celebrating when there is silver pots to crow about then maybe there should be an equal and exact opposite - i.e. when the team brings home nothing then maybe a bit of muted silence wouldn't go amiss.

Who judges what is worth celebrating publically? It would appear that you think you can. I would beg to differ.

And, at the risk or repeating myself, history is not only for celebrating, it is also for regret. Liverpool as a club, for me, do not have the balance right and they more than most clubs have a lot to be regretful about.

i'm not judging what people can celebrate, i am giving my opinion on what people should celebrate. There is nothing wrong with fans of less successful clubs celebrating whatever they want to, but if one clubs fans celebrate trophies won, and one celebrates being an old club, then it spells out what they have acheived. On one hand you are saying a fan truly enshrined to its club will feel their history worth celebrating, and on the other you and many others on here want us to stop celebrating ours.

with regard to your last point, i think you are wrong saying we lack balance. We may have areas of our history to regret but we have far far more positives to outweigh. We show respect to the dead and refuse to play on the anniversary of hillsborough (which although we regret hugely we did not cause). We welcomed Juve in 2005 with remorse but those things should not detract from what we have acheived which is light years ahead of your own acheivements. And do you have nothing to regret Chelsea? I never hear your club regretting any of your past. You seem to want a lot of things your way, just because we have a song that pisses you off. Perhaps your history isnt all that to be proud of.
