german-blue
Difficult today. My vote went to Glen Johnson. He?s done a decent job at center back. I didnt expect that, and so I was really surprised! Just hope Ricci?s injury is not too serious. Mikel played good aswell, he really gave us control in midfield
BlueBeard
SWP for the second consecutive game - he's really upped his game!

Alan
Haven't seen the game so cant comment, was kept up to date by the (strangely) positive and exciteable Phil Thompson and people in the matchday forum.

Gem
How did Ben Haim do? Like others I haven't seen it, I'll wait and judge it purely on MOTD highlights
Plavi26
My vote goes for SWP. He is in incredible form and playing so well. In the first half, I think he was the only one who was trying to attack.
munichblue
Sweepy was great, even as RB! I'm proud of the team....
The Moos
I don't think that Sweepy was as good today as he was against Birmingham but he was still very good. The MotM for me
Scott
I had to give it to Obi, when he came on we really started bossing the game. He just doesn't put a foot wrong does he. Sweepy did have another good game even at right back but I think Obi Wan changed the match. I see a little Paddy Viera in young Mikel Obi.
just
I got to see the whole game via a German channel. SWP very good again. Johnno, I've mentioned him already on his own thread, and he did well when he came on. But MOTM for me was Drogba. Awesome 2nd half. In my wildest dreams as a kid, and standing on the terraces of the old Shed, I never thought I'd see the best centre-forward in the world playing for Chelsea. And that's exactly what he is. The very best in the world. And by some distance too.
abramovich
SWP was the best on the pitch, i was especially impressed by how well he did as a rightback in the second half. Well done Shaun.
g3.7
lamps and drogba were awesome in the second half, really good. but swp was one of our only players to do well first half, and with his pace took hunt (who was IMO their best player first half) out of the game, and still got forward. Sofa Manager
Gotta go with Shaun this time. Especially for the maturity shown on the 2nd half.
nickwus
Sweepy was great, even as RB! I'm proud of the team.... Who needs Alves? Sweepy's the nature choice for RB --- can get back fast and there's no better attaching RB in the country :)
callista
Mikel was good. He changed the game in the midfield second half. SWP I guess takes the vote though for his great performance at RB. As you say, who needs Alves!
Guest Brian M
Hey Loz, when you're compiling the list of man of the matches at the end of the season, it might be an idea to have the 'Official Man of the Match' and the CSR Man of the Match together. If not no other reason, it'll be interesting to see how often the two marry up.
loz
where is the official MOTM documented? I am not sure if places like the BBC and Sky document it or whether they document their own one. Also remember we are vopting for the CHelsea MOTM - official one will sometimes go to the opposition.
bennyboy1976
Was there last night and thought SWP was immense.

Not altogether sure, mate. I only thought of it when I read that Drogba was the official man of the match. I reckon the FA site or something may list the 'official' man of the match each week? You know, the guy who gets the bottle of champs after the match, etc?
Makelele
i give it to Drogba, he won the game for us...nobody seems to be talking about his little header on to lampard into space, what skill...then his winner...it could be the Didier Drogba show all year once again!!! Pizarro started that play, he head it to Drogba. I think the 2 subs changed the game.
