Target for the next 8 games without our African comrades ?

I think 20 points from the next 24 points available would be a great target to aim for without John Obi Mikel (Nigeria), Didier Drogba and Saloman Kalou (Ivory Coast), Michael Essien (Ghana).

We probably will have Anelka and maybe 2 more players to come in, all 3 available for premiership duty.

I think maybe we could suprise everyone this season with a real late snatch and grab involving our 2 home games late on against Arsenal and Manure (For which the Africans will be back).

Chelsea win the title at home to Bolton on the final day of the season 2-0 with a Frank Lampard double ! Dejas vous ? ::Scalf::

The ANC surely doesnt go on for 2 months !!! What date is the first game and what date is the final ?

Also you have to remember the chances of all four of our players staying right until the end is very slim. Well impossible even.

If i remember right its 20th Jan-8th Mar (Final).

Yes i know they could be back earlier, but not all of them and dont forget they may need to be rested or injured when they return.

It's much better to make plans without them in.

Just checked - it finishes 10/02. Which means if one of Nigeria, Ivory Coast or Ghana get to the final the players will miss the Liverpool game.

Sorry yeah your right.

So we have a chance of getting them back much earlier than i thought. happy0034.gif

BJD i love , just love your avitar , quality.

Up to now we've managed to get results without key players but we can only ride our luck for so long.

Crucial games at home to Spurs, Reading [ bananna skin ], Liverpool , [with a strong side we can beat them no doubt], but to be honest , our defecnce is a shambles without J.T. and Carv and Peta.

Ghana's last group game is 28th of january

Nigeria's and I-coast's last is 29th of january

So some of our guys could be back as soon as the Reading game on 30th. I'm just afraid that all of them will progress to late stages of that tournament.

BTW 21st of january is Nigeria-Ivory Coast so tune in to Eurosport(I think they will cover it).

I think it is nice to watch ACN since most of the teams are really attacking minded teams. There are lots of defensive errors!

And the refs and linesmen are usually crap. I remember watching the last ACN and thinking that compared to the cretins at the ACN the refs in Premier League is top class icon_eek.gif

Still, the games are usually fun to watch. I remember that it was in ACN that I first saw Mikel and was impressed by him. happy0034.gif

I really started to think Drogba is worth all that money we paid for him when I saw him play for Ivory Coast in the ACN 2006. He really showed what a great leader he is.

Carv will be back, And with a new replacement for Bin Him and possibly JT back by end of January I think we will be ok at the back. Its where goals are coming from that bothers me

Thanks. That's good news, although on current form he may struggle to make the team. I probably need a valium but right now it feels like we could make a strong finish to the season. Can't help feel that with most of the squad available and Anelka to help up front we are looking good.

A win at home to the scousefools will see us stay on track for the greatest ever Chelsea title win of all time !

Love your positive thinking Coco,

wish I could be so sure but I'm happy to go along with it icon_lol.gif

Coco, if all this turns out to be true, I will officially pronounce you the new Nostradamus

Sitting down on Saturday before the Pompey match I was chatting to a Manc bloke I know and I boldly stated that all we had to do was win our remining games and we were then Champions. This was based on the Mancs and L'Arse both having to come to fortress Stamford Bridge AND having to play each other.

So, having only drawn down at Fratton, how do we stand now? I think still good. Win all our remaining games and we will be world-record breaking QUADRUPLE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!

KTBFFH!

This season we have had a nightmare with everything, except results.

Jose's gone.

Injury list was bigger than any other team (with 3 of our most important players on it).

Lost more African players than any other team.

But as we were last year in regards to results, were still in everything, all 4.

I think the cl is ours. happy0034.gif
