I think in this order:

riccy, ballack, maka then j.cole. joe cole's last couple of months rule him out of the running for the award, and essiens first 6 or 7 months rule him out.

riccy has been superb again, though if ballack was fit all season maybe I could properly justify picking him... but I think he can be really pleased with his work since returning and I'm really happy to see a guy who was one f my favourite non-chelsea players for years be a success with us.

edit to say- in fact I don't think overall lamps has been any less consistant than joe, and he's a more productive player for sure so I'd knock joe back into fifth- a vote for him could only be justified by looking at the general crapness of our other wide options.

Lampard for me - his contribution in the last couple of months took us to the brink of great things, our top scorer. Hope he chooses to end his career at chelsea.

Over the whole season it has to be Carvalho. Ballack went missing in a few games, and Essien went through a couple of piss poor patches.

Ballack for me, just ahead of Riccy.

Never expected such a good season from him following such an indifferent last season, but the improvement has been massive.

Ballack for me too. Recently he has just been awesome. Scoring goals being physical getting into the right spots. Loved it when he and essien got physical with ronaldo at the end of the final, the refs finally stopped calling anything involving him and they roughed him up.

Lord Percy, Lord Percy

he comes from Portugal

Lord Percy, Lord Percy

he hates the Arsenal

Fittingly, to be sung to the tune of "blackadder,"

Ballack by a mile and a half for me...

Essien, Carvalho and Cole may have performed really well this season but..

- Essien was jaded after the Cup of Nations for about a month

- Carvalho has made those occasional mistakes

- Cole form has just dipped since April

Meanwhile, Ballack's 1st appearance came during christmas time but still he has been a very consistent player and probably our best central midfielder this season. He may not have scored as many as Lampard, he has contributed much more to Chelsea this season.

P.S. : And with that I hit my 100th post on the forum woohoo.gif

ooohh had to think long and hard about that one

Agreed has to be between Ballack and Lord Percy...

Gone for the German...

I agree with some that he has gone missing on occassion, but also he has been a real inspiration at times, and has a real touch of class about him.. Hope he stays for a few more years.

Honourable mentions to Terry and Lamps.. tough season for them in many ways ! Stick with the Chels lads and bring home another major trophy next year ::Scalf::::Scalf::

Ballack for me too. From the moment he started playing this season he turned out to be really important in the team.

Great come back! clap2.gif

Carvalho is my pick.

Special mentions to Ballack, Essien, Lampard and Joe Cole (who's form unfortunately has been shocking recently)

Ashley Cole!

Is it bad thats where my mind went first?

Well, second, after Ricky... but put him ahead of everyone else on the list.

Well Ashley Cole is a talented footballer of course!

He is probably the best ever left-back !

went for ballack becuase his improvement from last season ( when he was compared to sheva ) has been huge, also he started playing regualry when alot of our players were injuruerd or away and was a good leader, i think being captain for that short peroid is what helped ballack turn it on.
