sweet waffle
I'm sure plenty will agree with me that this a meaningless friendly, but in spite of this you'd hope for a little progressive thinking from Mr Capello, sadly this isn't the case, the goal machine that is Emile Heskey has been recalled to the squad!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/7554604.stm Edited August 16, 2008 by sweet waffle

Elliott
After our performance on Sunday, i have no interest in this whatsoever. Christ, England's options (especially up-front) look so limited.
Barn
It pisses me off that they have an England friendly so early every bloody season, can't they just let us get on with the important stuff, like winning back our Premier League.
Gem
I feel the same as you Barn, at least with Sven our lads were only going to play one half so you could switch off at half time and relax.
TheWestwayWonder
England have all the possession, but they are settling for outside shots, especially St Steven and Rooney. And Big Pete is corralling them all. Only time they have looked dangerous were from set pieces. As I type that, Wes Brown scores to level things. Good to see that after his family troubles this summer.

loz
Shame Petr let in a goal, hope the Czech's come out and smash 'em in the second half, wishful thinking eh? Yep that is just what I want - just after every Tom, umpteen Dicks and few Harrys have slaughtered the decision to make JT England captain I want nothing more than to see the John Terry led team get spanked - would really make my night and I would so enjoy them all saying 'see told you so'. blizeH
The cons far outweight the pros of England winning though. Sick and fed up of everyone slating JT Sick and fed up of everyone slating Lampard Sick and fed up of everyone slating Ashley Cole Sick and fed up of supporting twats like Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand and Stevie G Sick and fed up of the media love-in for said twats such as Stevie G

blizeH
Why Terry and Lampard staying on the pitch? They've been poor. Punishment? Comments like that are what make me want England to get crushed in every single game, screw the media and screw the fans. /bitter (sorry Loz!) bjd
This is so bad. Everyone focuses on the midfield Beckham/Lamps/Ickle Stevie but theyve been the least of our problems tonight. People who think Bentley/Young and Downing are better have heads in the sand. Its up front and in goal where we have the issues. Im starting to think that rooney is now the most ineffectual forward in international football. Who else is out there Defoe ? Give over. Heskey, Crouch ? :o As for between the sticks. Dont know where to start. And as for those fans who now boo everything and everyone. Also someone needs to shoot the band. BJD ive said it many times on here, its the price we pay for the quality of the prem and your seeing it in the numbers game now , a theory ive posted quite a few times. Fact is you see the effect's of having such a forighn based league in the small numbers first, you only get one goal keeper per team starting and as a result the goal keeper was the first position to look shaky, ok we may get one through is a little bit good, thingers crossed for Joe hart but what we dont have is a vast amount to pick from. next comes the strikers, 2 some times 1 starter per team thus why you hardly see and englishman in the top goal scorers charts. Again even if we consider owne and roony as world beaters which i dont, who's there to back them up. On opening day of the season last year 70 odd percent of players that started where NOT english, out of the 20 odd percent you have your sidwell type players. so really does cappelo have any more than say 15 percent of players starting week in week out in the prem, with other nations most of there players are starting all over europe. I couldnt say for sure but i think spain and italy have a higher number of there own nationality starting. To be honest my only reall remaining interest in the national team is terry, cole and lamps. can't bring my self to care about ashly PS no my maths is not not dodgy, use the odd as a random number in between 70 and 80 and ect. g3.7
awful game. we are still a crap side. england fans no doubt foaming at the mouth right about now on phone ins and the like. lampard and bentley booed. this helps them play well. we've not yet played a proper game and it's still early days, I have a lot of faith in cap to eventually put together a side that will function well. I think we NEED a fit owen. disappointing, the positives were that we didn't lose, that joe looked alright, no injuries, and cech, despite waddle's nonsense, did well in difficult conditions. Mr Chelsea
that was poor i am very dissapointed in the performance by england i dont look at it as he plays for man u and he plays for the scousers or he plays for chelsea its england regardless of which club they play for tonight no one in particular stood out and tried to inpose themselves on the game the best player on the pitch for england wes brown, thats how bad we were why the hell they booed lamps is beyond me, he was no worse or any better than anyone else if i was him i would retire and concentrate soley on chelsea its time beckham stayed in america on international week, 1 good cross does not warrant an england place gerrard should not of been on the left, barry was here there and every where and no where in particular when i'm sure he had a position, what it was is anyones guess its time for these lads to stand up and be counted, and the manager coming out and defending the performance just pisses me off even more a few to many beers for me maybe and its only a friendly, god help us when its for real
Englishman
Lampard again getting the blame for the crap performances of Gerrard, Rooney and everyone else. We just don't have enough quality players, plain and simple. A lot of our fans are tw@ts too.

BackInBlue
In all honesty, Frank was pretty mediocre the whole game. Yes Rooney and Gerrard were as bad, if not worse but Frank didn't really shine either. However, his performance did not justify the fans booing at him.
