Mikel. In terms of their footballing contribution there was no-one even close to him. But in terms of passion and spirit and the sheer will to win JT was Captain frigging Fantastic.

0-0 Obi but JT gave us a vital 3 points and saved u a few times at the back. Obi played well enough to do it for me but how can you ignore JT's performance.

mikel for me. hes added a dimension to our play as a defensive midfielder that maka never did. his surges forward last night were fantastic, yet he never seemed to relenquish his defensive duties either. i wonder if scolari knew what kind of player he had at his disposal in mikel.

Mikel was the stand out player, great attacking runs from midfield, he could turn out to be one hell of a player.

Fully understand why people have gone for Mikel but I've gone for JT, not because of his goal but because of some match saving tackles one of which stopped a very clear shooting chance for them.

I was very disappointed in Jon Arne Riise though. He didn't have one shot or header on target for us, even Anelka had more attempts than him!
