Random Rumours
Hull City remain in talks to sign Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo. The Portugal Under-21 international is believed to prefer a move within the Premier League to joining Chelsea's sister club, Strasbourg.

Enzo Fernandez - not wanted in England, the Falklands or probably Argentina now
City need him, but they do not want to look like fools for a second time after having to pay a compensation for the manager. Bouaddi is very young and will need time to settle into that team and PL football and Anderson can't hold that midfield on his own. And surely Maresca won't play Semenyo, Cherki and Foden behind Haaland in each match. He wants Enzo in that no. 10 role so he can have Cherki operate in the "famous" right pocket just like Palmer did. City already are very light in defence and Maresca is a stubborn guy, it would be a headache for him to have to play a formation with only two central midfielders (Anderson and Bouaddi) behind four natural attackers.

4:3 points better ask Alonso. 3 wins from 3 aint a bad little start. Yeah, we are conceding, but expect things to tighten up over the next few games and if it doesn't, well, going to enjoy the counter and attacking football. Yesterday was the sort of game i expect to see henderson coming into to secure things up in the second half. Slate has been wiped clean imo for a number of players. They look hungry under Alonso. Not sure the club knows how to handle the Enzo situation, expect him to still be here and that's not sitting well with me.

I hope they get Camara in irrespective of what happens to Enzo, feel we need another "natural" player positional wise particularly with such a reliance on Moises.

Hopefully it's all decided days ago and just delayed while we get a replacement midfielder onboard !

My worry is that this is all a ploy to get back at us for the aftermath of the Maresca incident. To be honest, its quite a good revenge tactic. Unsettle the player, make him go on strike - all without really having any intention of buying him. Leaves us with a major problem. Dont think this is the fact but come on man. Just bid already

This is starting to stress me a bit. I look at our midfield yesterday and think maybe it is the biggest problem with our defence. With Caicedo looking a fitness worry, we look as weak as we’ve ever been in the middle of the park. I’m sure that without Enzo shipped for 120m there’ll be no new additions to improve a worrying midfield.

Yeah give him time. He’s great and the type of personality we want in defence. The system we play currently exposes the outside centrebacks quite a bit. They are having to deal with a lot of 1v1 high tempo defending. Despite us conceding a lot these days, I enjoy this type of football much better than the dross served up for the last 2 years. All in all very happy!

Wesley Fofana at Chelsea *Official*
I'll give him credit when he earns it. A game where he did a few things well but mistimed so many headers is not my idea of a good performance.

When it comes to posting in the Fofana thread you need to use your other account @nonotnowscott He could score a hatrick and make 6 goal line clearances and you still wouldn't give him any credit.

I have a hard time rating that performance as good. Too many errors from him, especially when it came to heading the ball. Standards should be a lot higher.

The tackle he made on the edge of our box in the first half was class. Had to make up ground to get the right side of the player and had time it spot on.

Enzo Fernandez - not wanted in England, the Falklands or probably Argentina now
I’ve always wanted to sell Enzo ever since he started twerking for Real Madrid, but the way City are pissing about, and making a 85m offer for Gakpo, they’re taking the piss now. I’d be very tempted to tell them to f*ck off and keep Enzo. Get Camara in. Enzo can decide whether he wants to rot in reserves all season or get his sh*t together and try to have a good season then maybe he’ll get his move to Real Madrid next year. I’m very disappointed he’s not gone by now but I really do feel like telling City to piss off now.

Think the ‘large poles’ in front of the terracing, are a safety precaution for the speedway! Might be completely wrong!- Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion (Premier League) Sunday 30th August — 14:00 BST Stamford Bridge
Doesn’t look as if we’re in for many 0-0 draws this season, does it!😀- Enzo Fernandez - not wanted in England, the Falklands or probably Argentina now
At which point does this sh*t get called out for lies that it has to be. What can the possibly have to talk about to be speaking every day. I don't even speak to my own children every bloody days. Total bullsh*t.- Estêvão
That is fair enough though. It's a competitive sport and always has been. Until now his fitness, progress through strength training, and actual form hasn't warranted more game time. But chances will arise. Players shouldn't be playing through the pain barrier or getting overuse injuries. When his chance comes along it's up to him to grab it which will then keep him in the team. It's never been any other way. I do have some concerns that the bulking up and strength training has slowed him up a bit and has affected that explosiveness and speed of thought that he had. I also actually think that regardless of Estevao, Germany Quenda could actually be the next real thing. Nobody is talking about this kid yet, and he is yet to have a run out in his favoured position. I'm praying he hasn't also fallen foul of the Cobham injury curse.- Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
I assume by control you mean more possesion. It got nothing to do with midfield. Very similar to vs Fulham we played in low/medium block 343. So it is very difficult for us to get the ball back.- Estêvão
“Chelsea’s Estêvão is a dream target for Liverpool, who made a loose inquiry to Chelseain past 24hrs but were told door is not open to exit; now weighing up move to test London club’s resolve.” Fully expected this, and can see them trying again in Jan, and if we resist he will move in the summer. - Vintage Blues pictures and film
