Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2017/2018
Niche nearest and dearest but went to the Shrews match tonight and they absolutely walked it. 4 up at half time and just went into 2nd gear for the 2nd half. Top of the league and beginning to dream of Championship football. Unbelievable after being favourites for relegation - I guess a bit like Leicester a couple of seasons back - I hope it ends the same

Our New Stadium
I think it still isn't at the moment in the Premier and Champtionship but the consensus seems to be swinging towards maybe allowing safe standing in future. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/27/shrewsbury-town-applies-safe-standing-rail-seats "The Premier League wrote to all 20 of its clubs this month to assess if they would be interested in trialling safe standing."

Our New Stadium
But Shrewsbury Town are considering it. And if they're successful maybe we'll be the first prem side to do it. We can but hope!

Anybody got a second team you support not in a top division?
Shrewsbury! Top of the league and having a laugh - especially as they were tipped for relegation. Getting giddy!

Your unpopular opinion about Chelsea
Agreed - especially repeat offenders. I have sold a couple through here but genuinely bought for someone who then couldn't make it. But yeah, I would've been happy to transfer the points. So, not unpopular as far as I'm concerned!

Watching City. What a bloody soft penalty - when was the last time we were awarded one, let alone one that soft. So glad Aguero missed it - poetic justice.

So just about to watch the second half of a CL match - which one's been best so far?

Stoke City Vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 23 Sep 2017 KO 15:00 GMT
Their atmosphere was also crap when I went to the league cup a couple of seasons back. No singing from them at all.

Stoke City Vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 23 Sep 2017 KO 15:00 GMT
My boss took her son to his first match. Although a Chelsea fan, she got them tickets in the Stoke bit. She said the Chelsea fans were really loud - much more so than the Stokies. Her boss is a Stoke fan and had the decency to call in today to say well done to me (because obviously I deserved some credit for our victory).

César 'Dave' Azpilicueta
And, and, he just seems like such a lovable guy too. With a wonderful smile. Love him too. Agree about one of the greatest signings. Solid, reliable, calm, creative. (pissed, me)

Remembering liverpool vs chelsea 0-2
I knew no-one who wanted them to win - Everton, Arsenal, Spurs, Stoke - all wanted anyone but them!

Remembering liverpool vs chelsea 0-2
From RWAK - "Well, at least they won't win the league." Well not until the next year! And then again two years later. And you're still waiting!

Rhymes with choose unless you're one of the county hunting shooting and fishing set.

Not really nearest or dearest to anyone but me (nearest and second dearest) but can I just point out that Shrewsbury are top of league 1, 5 points clear, undefeated with only 1 draw. And they were one of the favourites for relegation having just escaped last year. Oh and plating good football as well. Would be fantastic to see them in the championship.

Who remembers the QF Champions league victory over Arsenal in 2004?
Watched it in the children's ward after my son had an operation and was told off for making too much noise! Fantastic night!

Broadcast Bias
So Stoke have been on more than us It is like they've forgotten who won the league. Ah well, under the radar again and slipping up into first with all the attention on the Mancs as usual.

There was analysis? I must've blinked.

What appalling defending from Stoke there.

God this is a tedious game.

Barkley
I seem to remember her saying it about Lukaku and Barkley in the middle of last season though not just in close season. She never rated Lukaku - was frustrated by his inconsistency and poor first touch as well as his laziness. I really don't think it was when they wanted to leave she was talking about being glad to see the back of them. But I may be wrong.

I didn't see the match tonight but your description is so Arsenal. It was something I noticed abundantly in our home match with them last season. Every time they lost the ball they looked at each other as though to say "well get the ball back and give it to me" whereas we just turned round and tried to fight to get it ourselves. Especially Kante. Obviously.

Zappacosta
Know nothing about him but love his name!
