Could this be our most exciting squad ever?
Agree Dow that this was a great team but appart from RDM the others were great players who come when maybe their best days were behind them although still great when they came. Today's team I feel are players at the start of greatness. I think we'll have to give it a year or so to see if they succeed. Agree with Barn about Oscar. I think he is the real diamond in the pack.

Alan Hudson Interview
Fantastic player Hudson and one of my favourites at his time with Chelsea. Did not hear the same anger in his voice when referring to Chelsea as I have heard in previous interviews he has done. Seems he may be in a better place at the moment. Interesting that Frank jun contacted the show to pass on his best wishes from him and Frank sen. Hudson relates that he advised Frank to join us rather than dirty Leeds when leaving the spammers. What a mistake that would have been Lamps.

player ratings arsenal (a)
A bit disappointed in some of the Oscar ratings. He was involved in a lot of our better movement and his defensive work was massive for us. Not a Hollywood showing by any means but I thought worth at least a 7/7.5.

Contract Issues
I think that 30 is probably too young to bring in the 1 year rule. IMO players should be given contracts to 33 and then 1 year thereafter.

Agree Phillip, at no time did Luiz look faintly interested in appealing for a pen.

MOTM vs Arsenal
Difficult to choose as everyone played well. JT and Cole were great in defence, Ramires and Mikel worked well together, Oscar was tackling anything that moved and probably sacrificed his game a bit for the team, Torres put in a real shift up front and took his goal well. However my vote goes to Mata who seemed to be at the centre of everything. What a buy. How could I have forgot about Peter the great, two match winning saves.

The Oscar thread
In the Olympic final Oscar started in support of the forwards and in particular had a good understanding with Neymar. After reorganising in the second half Ocsar moved into a deeper mid position and I thought he was superb. He was able to control the game from this position all attacks started from him. What I like most about him playing deeper is his speed of pass to the players in forward positions which does not give time for the opositions defense to organise. This i think is a big part of our problem at the moment with playing Lamps in that position.

The Oscar thread
Like you Val I'm very disappointed. Can't see how he didn't get at least a half yesterday. How RDM didn't think that he could offer us something better than was on the field I'll never know. From the little I have seen of him he seems to be what we have been crying out for and at his age should be getting plenty of playing time.

QPR vs Chelsea (PL) 15/09/12 KO 15:00 BST
Problem Gem is that we really haven't been putting them under pressure to break them down. QPR have probably had most on the play.

QPR vs Chelsea (PL) 15/09/12 KO 15:00 BST
Leaving a young leading light in world football sitting on the bench. Your having a laugh RDM.

Think positive, we haven't paid £50 to go and see this sh*t.

QPR are bossing us at the moment.

The Oscar thread
I don't see Oscar as a bench player for us. I think he will command a regular starting place in the very near future, like in the next month or so.

Hulk coming to Chelsea?
Just dipped into this thread to see why it's still going and notice this debate on the money being paid aspect. Have not got time to go through it all but have noticed this arguement of greed coming up before and why would footballers move. My own feeling is that if a player is on say £80K/week (one hell of an ammount) and another club is willing to pay £120K/week. If he besides to stay at 80 for the love of the club/fans etc he is effectively costing himself 40 grand per week to play. That is a hell of a lot of love. I really believe most players follow the cash and i can't really blame them.

Sounds like a lot of work to me BumsteadCFC, but a great idea and I'll certainly enjoy reading it.

Old Topics from 2006
Normally kept my opinions to myself, except maybe having the odd pop at Drogba. I really thought him sh*t at first with awful control which would never wear it in the prem. really hated the way he went down with the slightest touch. Even to this day, although I appreciate his performances and importance to the club, I can never really consider him as a Chelsea Legend. At one of the piss ups I had a chat with Just about Drogba and Just defended him to the hilt predicting that he would be great for Chelsea. Kudos to Just, although he has yet to convince me about Sturridge.

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
Seems like a good interview but I'm going to have to do it in stages, that f**ker controlling the camera is doing my head in.

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Arteta given the MOTM which I suppose was fair enough is such a drab match. Was difficult to pick out anyone outstanding. So good to see Arsenal struggle.

Really crap match, arsenal awful. Can see this ending 0-0. Would love to see stoke nick it.

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Just watched the Nowich, QPR match on MOTD. After great work on the left wing ( don't even know who if was ) and a pin point cross into the centre to Jackson who headed in from two yards. Jackson ignors the provider, runs to the crowd beating his chest and then turns to his team mates beckoning them to him. What a c**t.

MOTM vs Newcastle
Difficult one this as there are so many possibles. My vote goes to Mikel excellent for 90 mins. Hazard had a great first half but quiet second. Torres looks the dogs bollicks again. Bertrand is a very solid player to have down are left side. Centre back pairing look good.
