Gary Cahill *UPDATED* *Now Signed*
Alan Hanson mentioned on MOTD about the lack of understanding between Luiz and Terry with Terry having to look to see where Luiz is rather than knowing where he is, and I think he has a point. Luiz has been here one year now and although there has been a great inprovment in this past month in his play there are still lots of holes in the centre when we come under a bit of pressure. As far as comparing Luiz and Cahill there is no doubt that Luiz is a much more gifted footballer, however it may be that a Cahill/Terry partnership would be a lot more solid.

It will never happen.

MOTM vs Wolves
Difficult one this as no one stood out. Went for Ramires but thought Mata and Torres were in with a shout.

Hulk coming to Chelsea?
Would be a ridiculous ammount of money to part with for a player unproven in a top league.

One of the all-time great Chelsea goals
My favorite part of the clip comes at 8:35 in when Drives skins his man and makes a great early cross to Lee resulting in a fine save by the keeper. It hard to beat a bit of old fashion wing play for excitment and to get the crowd going. Would love to see some of that in our current team. Although I hate the Spuds, I do enjoy seeing Bale in full flow down the left. He has the ability to go wide, beat his man, doesn't f**k about and delivers a good deep early cross. Seems to be fewer and fewer of these players in the current game.

MOTM vs Villa
Was thinking about this topic before it came up and couldn't think of a canidate. However reading the other posts reminded me that Torres contribution was probably the only positive. with the shot and setting up Drogba in what was a very dire game.

vs Villa: Performance
Luiz looks good on the ball and always will, however he is a central defender and I don't care how good he looks, just cover the correct positions, read the game and mark the f**king man you are suppose to mark. This guy is technically very skillful but I'm not convinced that he will ever make a competent CB.

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Was just thinking the same thing. I think there is a better chance of success than being a flop.

Gary Cahill *UPDATED* *Now Signed*
A useful player IMO. I believe he will be more than a squad player and can see him being a regular.

Malouda on his way .. ?
I agree Tiw but I don't think he will and it may be time for a new challenge. I think Malouda has been a useful enough player since he come but a couple of good seasons out of 5 is hardly head turning. This season he has really annoyed me on a couple of occasions, one were he decided to go down easily in the box when he had a great chance for a dangerous cross after skinning Liverscums Johnston. However against Fulham on Monday, when I think overall he had a reasonible game, there was one occasion when he give a 10 yds pass and then just stood there not looking for a return or to take any further part in the move. The recieving player got closed down and Malouda made no effort in winning the ball back. This to me stood out as a lack of interest, passion and desire. So for me, Flo has been OK and if he decides to go that is no problem. Should he stay, I think it will be for limited playing time.

MOTM vs Fulham
Thought Terry was steady and Torres touch seemed more assured than before but was forced to come too deep at times when really we need him playing off the shoulder of the last man. Vote today goes to Luiz who AVB seems to have reigned in a bit and made a lot of very well timed interceptions.

Torres touch looks as good as it has been for us and has been involved in out better moves.

This is so pedestrian. Crowd are dead but no wonder. It's upto the team to get the crowd going.

Josh McEachran - We need to play him
This thread has been running for 10 months now and I still don't see it happening any time soon. Baffling.

Neymar
All look great attacking but tracking back and tackleing is often required of forwards play today and I don't think any of those four could do that with great effect.

Button it Frank ..
You may be right in that Frank will be option 2 and put his head down and works harder and I think this has happened over this last number of seasons when his form has dipped and lots of people here were questioning if he was worth his place in the team. However there comes a stage through age or injury that you just can't get back to your old self and maybe Frank's time has come. With the Euro's coming up I'd imagine he is giving his all but time will tell. I still believe he can be an asset to the squad but probably only playing a bit-part on the pitch.

Hardly an excuse for lampard who hasn't been playing. thought he would have been on fire getting a start.

Hard to believe we could put in such an non-performance as that after Monday night. Players who did not turn up today, Cech, Lamps, Raul, Drogba but the biggest surprise for me was Ivan. Worst match in a Chelsea shirt, just did not look comfortable.

Wigan probably value for that and look more likely to get the winner.

Chelsea v Man City (PL) 12/12/11 KO 20:00 GMT
For me Romeo was strong in the tackle and in the air winning ball. He was always available to pass too to get players out of trouble and forever looking the ball off our defenders to move the ball quickly forward. His reading of the game is fantasic for someone so young but what I noticed about him tonight was his athleticism and his assured control and passing when the ball comes at him at awkward heights. I believe he may be a world class player in the making.

MOTM vs Man City
Romeu was massive out there. Mentions for Sturridge and Ramires.
