  1. Can't agree with that, I'm afraid, though I wish you were right - when Lampard plays at his best he's excellent. But I've seen both matches so far this season, and apart from his goal last night (which I admit he he took brilliantly, by the way), he's been almost totally anonymous. I honestly think that a sure way of getting Lampard back to his best would be for Mourinho to have the balls to drop him for a few games, make the bloke fight for his place like most of the other players. Some people respond well to an arm round the shoulder, others to a kick up the arse - it's about time his arse was kicked.
  2. Quite a few clubs have fans like that. West Ham and the scousers spring to mind - and does anyone remember the Forest fans at the City Ground just after Matthew Harding died? Luckily most fans have a degree of decency - f*ck, even the despised T*ttenham scum behaved impeccably during the minutes silence for MH at the Bridge. Not really surprised that Reading fans behaved that way - Hunt's behaviour since Cech's injury has obviously influenced them, and the pikey c*nts have just followed his lead. W*nkers, the f*ckin' lot of 'em
  3. And not only that, his debut goal was against Spuds!
  4. SWP for the second consecutive game - he's really upped his game!
  5. I'll take an "average" Lampard (i.e. 20 + goals, top in assists, works his b*****ks off) over Sidwell any day of the week! Not surprised about the hairy palms - I believe it's normal practice for the nurses to keep scissors and other sharp objects locked safely away Been quite a while since I saw Lampard work his b*llocks off. His work rate has dropped off, his corners, free-kicks, and even penalties have deteriorated beyond recognition, he gets knocked off the ball far too easily (happened at least 4 times on Sunday), and his supposed 'reluctance' to sign a new contract have just made me not care if he stays at Chelsea or not. I reckon we'll just have to agree to differ, as you'll never change my mind, and I wouldn't want to change yours - each to their own and all that..... ps - if I had a few nurses to look after me, my palms would be normal
  6. Did I miss something? or is it "Have a go at Frank" Day today? I've had a permanent "Have a go at Frank" day for well over a year now Is that Bexhill Rhyming slang Steve? Only 73 days to go before I 'beat' Jamie Carragher's record - no wonder I'm so exhausted all the time They say too much of it can ruin your eyesight. Looks like they were right Nothing wrong with my eyesight, Lampard has been average at best for at least the last year. Sorry, I would have replied earlier, but the hair on my palms kept getting caught in the keyboard

  8. I think Carlton Palmer's recall is also way overdue

  10. I'm sticking with the 4-4-2 with wingers: - -----------------------Cech Ron Harris*----Ricci------Ben Haim-----A.Cole SWP--------Sidwell-------Mikel---------Malouda -------------Pizarro-------Kalou * Ron Harris drafted back for special man-marking duties on Hunt Joey Jones & Mickey Droy on the bench in case Chopper gets sent off before crippling the little c*nt
  11. You've got to suspect that Frank Lampard is one of those players he's talking about. Frankie's supposedly been umming and ahhing for months about his contract, but that is clearly the typical behaviour of a woman and so it's obvious that his other half is behind it!
  12. I was there and I tell anyone who will listen that it was his debut! No it wasn't Forssell made his Chelsea debut when he came on as sub in the league match at Highbury on 31 January 1999 (we lost 0-1). He scored those great goals against Oxford just three days later. bah. I'm going to follow in the great traditions of the forums and choose to ignore the facts because they don't suit me.
  13. You're right, it was against Derby in January 1997 - fantastic goal, really thought he'd turn out to be something special when I saw that, shame it didn't turn out that way.
  14. yeah but we can all slag off JFH for being lazy when for many years he was our top man Many years??? He was only here for four years, the first two he was great, the second two he was a lazy git our top scorer 3 out of 4 years...so he was lazy for one Just being top scorer doesn't mean a player is less lazy, just means he's scored more goals than his team-mates. Mike Fillery was top scorer in 1982/83 with 9 league goals, does that mean he was a great goalscorer? JFH's first two years at Chelsea, he was a goalscoring machine, the last two years his attitude was totally different and he spent most of his time blaming team-mates for his own mistakes, or because he couldn't be bothered to run two yards to collect a pass. Sorry if that upsets you, but it's true. Oh, and back to the main topic - it was great to see Mikael Forssell fit again, I really rated him when he was at Chelsea. His reaction to scoring against us was pure quality, the man has class

  17. From what I've seen of Craig Gordon, he's an excellent young keeper and he's got an extremely good reputation north of the border. It was only going to be a matter of time before a premiership side showed an interest in him, but as good as he is, ?9m is way over the top at this stage in his career.
  18. Aha - thank you kind sir, I shall edit my post accordingly!

JFH wasn't exactly brilliant in his last 18 months at the Bridge, so f*ck it, bring in Jimmy Greaves!
  20. 1) Another season is underway and Chelsea go into expecting to win everything, what are your hopes and aspirations for the season ahead? Finish as Champions and win the Champions League (more hope than expectation though) 2) A relatively cheap summer for Chelsea this year, what do you make of the lack of money spent and the new signings that have been brought in? Pleased we didn't spend much, but extremely pissed off that the press have hardly commented on how much Manure & your lot have spent - though that doesn't surprise me in the least. New signings Malouda & Pizarro are looking good to me, and I'm sure Ben Haim & Sidwell will do a good job when called upon. I'd still like us to make a couple more signings, though not necessarily big money ones. 3) Chelsea seemed to be in turmoil for pretty much all of last season with infighting etc, do you think you have put it all behind you now or is it going to get worse? I think 99% of the so-called 'infighting' was invented by the press, so the question isn't really relevant. The reason we didn't compete as much as we should have was down to serious injury problems, especially to key players. 4)Terry recently signed a new ?135,000 a week contract, what are you thoughts on that and whats going to happen with Frank Lampard? Lampard can f*ck off as far as I'm concerned. He's been out of form for ages now, and doesn't deserve parity with someone like JT who gives 110% every game. Having said that, no footballer should be paid ?135,000 a week, it's bleedin' scandalous. 5) Your favourite and worst memories reguarding Liverpool? Favourite? Steaming into you lot on the North Stand terrace in the 80's, great fun! Worst? Over they years, far too many to mention. My hatred for Liverpool goes back to the early 70's when your so-called 'best fans in the land' used to slice up innocent away fans with Stanley knives after games - very brave - going right up to the present day, with the behaviour of your fans at the recent game in Athens - mugging your fellow fans, unbelievable 6) What are your views on Rafa's transfers this summer, how will they fare in the English Premiership? Difficult to say, haven't seen most of them in action - impossible to say whether they'll adapt to the English game or not until the season gets under way (as with any overseas player) 7) Have you seen our new stadium, what do you make of it? I think the designer must have been on some powerful drugs - looks awful, but looks ain't everything (so they tell me) 8)What are your views on the Liverpool squad this year, can we seriously challenge yourselves and the Scum? In all honesty, I don't think so. It's not necessarily because of the squad, I just don't think Benitez is good enough 9) Your winners of the following: Premiership - Chelsea F.A Cup - Man.City, Newcastle or (horror) Spuds Carling Cup - Chelsea Champions League - Barcelona or Real Madrid 10) Finally can you predict the score for the newkit forum? 2-1 Chelsea
  21. BB, You made 1203 excellent posts, but your 1204th was awful You're right of course. I'd been dreading the big 1204 for ages, and panicked at the last moment
  22. If we're going to have a realistic 'Return to the Shed' policy, then I think we ought to go the whole hog. 1) Nobody allowed in without uniform, namely Ben Sherman, Brutus, braces, Sta Prest, Levis, Squires brogues, 16 hole DM steelies, Levi jacket, Harrington and Crombie - though not all at the same time unless it's very cold 2) Usual equipment to be carried at all times, ie - knuckledusters, cosh, quarter bottle of whisky, etc.... 3) Compulsory frantic singing of 'Knees Up Mother Brown' every time Chelsea score a goal, accompanied of course by jumping up and down, surging forward sideways and back, and general madness 4) Decorative changes to the Shed End, namely a white wall on the east side, and a khazi at the west back consisting of a wall to piss up, and where the urine is kept at a constant depth of three inches. And next to that, a tea bar which sells tea and bovril at temperatures guaranteed to give third degree burns to anyone careless enough to spill any on their hands 5) A line of coppers in the middle aisle, one of whom shall be an evil b*stard in glasses known as 'Bilko' 6) Anyone resembling an opposition fan or fans entering the Shed End to be battered to f*ck by those nearest to the offender, while the remainder sing "you'll never take the Shed", with accompanying hand gestures 7) Singing throughout the game is compulsory, even if it's only 25 choruses of "we hate Nottingham Forest" due to boredom 8) "Zigga Zagga" to be banned unless it's done properly, in respect to the late great Micky Greenaway 9) Anyone chucked out of the main entrance to walk round to the west entrance (and vice versa) and regain entry by any means possible 10) Any suspected away fans spotted in the MHS area to be met with continuous chants of "North Stand, North Stand, do your job" until said away fans are battered to f*ck by the MHS regulars in the proper manner I might well be tempted to start going to matches regularly again!
  23. Get rid of him - he's just a f*ckin' big nancy boy! And while we're at it, we could also offload Ferreira, Cashley, Lampard & Glen - worked for me in FM2007
  24. Bloody hell, reading some of the posts on here is like listening to some of the old British sit-coms: - "Doomed.........we're doomed" - Private Fraser, Dad's Army "Woe, woe and thrice woe" - Senna the sooth sayer, Up Pompeii We've had a mixed pre-season, and lost the Charity Shield on penalties with a very weakened team - big deal! Once the season gets going, we'll be right up there fighting all the way - SWP is looking better and more confident, Sheva can only improve, Malouda looks a good signing already, Pizarro is a class player and will add weight to our attack, and Sidwell will fight for the team (if he ever gets the chance). My main concern is Mourinho's persistence in picking Lampard, no matter how crap his form. Lampard should be dropped and made to fight for his place like any other player - I believe his lack of form is partially due to his knowing he's going to get picked anyway, so why bother putting in the effort. If we're gonna play with wingers and two in central midfield, then Essien, Ballack, or even Sidwell should probably get in ahead of Lampard on recent form (like the last 18 months). To be honest I'd be happy if we sold him to Barca this week, as I think he's the reason we struggle through games - he just looks so lethargic, and though I realise that when on form he's a great player, his recent demands for ridiculous money have turned me against him.
