  1. Good managers are able to turn matches around with clever substitutions and tactical switches. Benitez only seems to be able to make things worse.
  2. I'm not defending the Interim Manager but Moses' inclusion was well justified, on recent performances.
  3. We keep turning to sh*t in the second half under the FSW. Whatever he's saying in his teamtalks clearly isn't working!
  4. I wasn't listening, but I heard a rumour to that effect yesterday. Hopefully they're just recirculating that rumour.
  5. I presume that's in reference to your clip of the signing horse, each to their own I guess!
  6. That's absolutely true, and it goes in the other direction too. Fair support of Torres (a recent example: not willing him to be a failure), is mistaken for unconditional fanboyism. Any kind of participation in this thread seems to cause people to get tarred with either one brush or the other, when most right-thinking shed-enders are somewhere in between.
  7. She is lovely <3 I notice that even the FSW is welcomed warmly by the Japanese, I'm wondering if they'd like to keep him.
  8. I'm confused by this, when you say "The same people will either disappear..." are you referring to the people over the last couple of pages who have (quite rightly, in my opinion) objected to Hazard_a_guess's inexplicable wish to see Torres fail?
  9. Walcott alongside Torres? That..... does not compute.
  10. Sturridge is a striker who can also play on the wing, while Walcott is a winger with ideas above his station. If Sturridge goes in January (and I hope does not) then Walcott is definitely not the player to replace him. I actually quite like Walcott as a player (on the wing) but's not like we're short of wingers, I just can't see what he offers that we don't have already.
  11. Both great posts. I love that analogy moi!
  12. That would be a reasonable point of view but it's quite an extrapolation from what the poster actually said. "I don't want Torres to succeed.", that seems pretty unambiguous to me. It's a very daft thing for a Chelsea supporter to say.
  13. He was great for us, it was very unfortunate for him when we signed another keeper who just happened to be one of the world's best. I loved it when the crowd sung the "Carlo for England" chant, as a foreigner it must have felt pretty good to hear that.
  14. I really want you to be wrong, but deep down I know you're probably right.
  15. Pat Nevin thinks Luiz could become one of the world's best in that deep midfield position. I'd say that's a little premature considering the low quality of the opposition today and last week, but I was very impressed by him today and I'm vastly more comfortable with him playing there than in defence. I'm hopeful that the Interim Manager will have the sense to repeat the experiment against better opposition on Sunday.
  16. Glad to see Clarke got manager of the month and is doing well in general.
  17. Here's a few I liked this year, there's only four because most of the music that was new to me this year has been around for quite a while. 1. Brian Jonestown Massacre - Aufheben I love the BJM. This is probably my favourite song from the album even though it kind of sounds half-finished. 2. Dr John - Locked Down I've actually been listening to his older albums more than this one, but this is new so I can include it here :) 3. El-P - Cancer for Cure Probably not everybody's cup of tea.. 4. Ty Segall and White Fence - Hair I'd love to see Ty Segall perform live.
  18. Like others I have a lot of respect for what he has achieved without having spending sh*tloads of money. It's fun to mock the Arse for not winning anything but they have consistently been one of the best teams in the league and have mostly played football that is pleasant on the eye. It seems that he has lost the plot recently though, so I'd be reluctant to have him at Chelsea at the moment, but then again maybe a change of club is what he needs. I know he's a sour-faced miserable moaning bar steward but I could tolerate that if we were winning (just).
  19. Well, she seems like a nice girl. I was scanning the comments and this one caught my eye: "Anyone who does this sort of thing should be executed." I thought it was quite funny at first, but then I realised it's the Daily Mail and that person is probably serious.
  20. Our board is far from incapable of making some WTF? decisions.
  21. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/dec/11/david-luiz-chelsea-club-world-cup Interesting interview with Luiz, he clearly would relish the captaincy role. I still think he needs to work on the consistency in his own game first, but he definitely has the right kind of personality.
  22. I remember playing Championship Manager 10 years ago and Jermaine Pennant's 'potential' stats were awesome, pretty much 20 everywhere it counts. I'm wondering now if the FourFourTwo writer's were PC gamers.
  23. Well, as the recently departed Brazilian playmaker known as Socrates once said “The only true wisdom is knowing you know nothing.†(I had to look that bit up).
