Maka definitely starts, but I'd rather have Mikel on the bench rather then Sidwell.

I believe he has been playing in the Norweigianfirst division, but his club IK Start were relegated this year, and feel they best cash in now while the iron is still somewhat hot. No idea about him as a player obviously, who here really would (outside of any Norweigians or Ghanians)?

I hate Michael Brown, almost as much as I hate the Nevillers...which is saying something. HOw he wasn't booked beggars belief. Was was Rennie watching? Malouda looks absolutely petrified anytime somebody gets near him, makes me wonder if they tackle in France? Frustrating. Good win, looked like the old Stamford Bridge beach out there for a while! Bit slow in starting, but until the last 5 minutes or so (when we switched off) Wigan had nothing.

Best match of the year for Maka, who looked like he had, gasp, lost a step or two a few times this season. His health has come back at just the right time for us. A brilliant player!

Yes, what it came down to in the end for me was those few stinkers Belletti had, compared to just an odd wobble from Alex. Both have performed beyond expectations for me though, which is brilliant.

It seems we are back to getting goals from all over the park again, like in our title winning seasons. Last year it seemed like only Drogs or Lamps scored.

Also nice to see a real "football" player signed, as we know José loved his hustling super athletes.(Not a swipe at José, honestly)

Alex abd Belletti, by some margin. I also went with Alex, but it just as well could be Belletti, who was given a less then warm welcome here in August! How much more would we really be getting out of Alves at this time?

It took Anelka all of about 35 seconds to look more dangerous in the box then Pizarro has for us all season long. That in itself says a lot.

There hasn't ben a player I hoped would turn things around more in the recent past then Gronks. I was really pulling for him, never came off though. And his constant travels since leaving us probobly are a good indicator of his true worth in the long run. I don't know why, but I always had a big soft spot for him. I agree geezer, I believe he is one of their top top players, and have seen him run the MF show more then a few times this year. That said, I believe he is Barca born and bred? NO chance of coming here I would imagine.

We are setting ourselves up for distaster. We wont play Sheva or Pizarro yet are depending on them for a vital month, the busiest month, of the season. How the hell are they supposed to get match fit? This has disaster written all over it. We could do a lot worse then Anelka at the moment, at least he is being allowed to kick a ball.

Cech obviously picks himself. Ferreira, Ben-Haim, Terry/Alex(depending on Fitness), and Cashley. The defenders pretty much pick themselves for this match as well. Midfield will be interesting, I believe as most do that we will got with a midfield three. Frank is automatic. Maka plays if fit I believe, and then it is Mikel/Essien depending on Essien. Front three I would imagine will be Malouda, Drogba, and Sweep. Be shocked if it were another front three, assuming we play in this formation. I can't see us playing any other way, especially at Anfield. We will be cautious. I would love three points but a draw would be a good result.

Can't see us keeping the three points, buggers at the FA will intervene for no reason.

I thought Kalou was excellant, much stronger then last year. It was hard to knock him off the ball. HOwever, he was only runner-up for me, Sweep taking the honours.

When they were flying two or three years ago, who ever could have imagined that in such a SHORT period of time that trident would be all gone? Shocking.

Regardless of what Jos? thinks, Mikel is more effective a little further up the pitch, as evidenced today. What a player. Even Mancs are admitting they let a gem get away, and that says A LOT about him, as you can imagine their feelings towards him. Cesc who?

I've read that politicians are trying to implement the "Ben Sahar" rule that would either let him do his "work" in the Israeli embassy in London or make him exempt from having to participate. NO idea how much of a push is being made on his behalf, but his future is still bright.

Had a brace today in Israel's qualifier. His future looks very bright.

Miroslav Stoch(AM LCR), Scott Sinclair(ST), Ben Sahar(ST) and Sergio Tejera(LW) are supposed to be top class as well. Ryan Bertrand(LB) and Harry Worley(CB) are also highly rated, along with Tom Taiwo(MC) and Michael Woods(MC). All, to my knowledge, are 16 with Sahar and perhaps one or two others having just turned 17. I imagine one or two will make the step up to the first team at some point in the next 3 or 4 years. No idea what kind of impact they will have, you never really do with kids.
