Under the circumstances, I'm amazed that Chelsea fans have been so patient with Torres ... which is a massive credit to our fan base. I'm not so sure this would be the case at many other Clubs, esp. abroad ...

We need to seize this opportunity ... Bamford can be the home grown temp. replacement if needs be ... I honestly believe he can't do any worse ... everyone is now desperate to get rid ... and patience has finally run out for the huge majority ... if not all ...

FERNANDO TORRES will not leave Chelsea unless they pay up his £8.5million-a-year contract in full ... being reported ... I think Torres has got the Club by the short & curlies ... if true? This thread could well run for the length of time it takes for Torres to run down his Contract then ... :0(

A great second half performance and congratulations to Jose, a Manager who FINALLY put Torres where he belongs ... nowhere near a football pitch ... Had Torres been played, without question he would have missed those crucial chances ...

Superb first half ... new players look really good, so much so that Hazard no longer stands out from the crowd ... in a positive way ... Therefore, great team effort! I think the team flows better without Rambo, plus how refreshing not having Torres on the pitch. Long, long way to go yet ... I still think Man City have the Prems best squad. Both wonderful, top keepers ... but Courtois is the future. Therefore, the time has come to take the plunge ... even tho' it's still a flip of a coin ... Ideally, I'd want to keep them both for this season, if at all possible? How about Courtois gets the Prem and FA cup games and Cech Champions League & League cup games ??? Hmmm ...

Lukaku loaned to Everton last year was probably the difference between winning the prem. and coming 3rd? We were finally all set to go this year and then ... Lukaku is sold ... history repeating itself methinks ... The situation we now find ourselves in may prove to be a massive own goal ...

Totally agree with all points above and shocking decision letting Lukaku go ... tipping point was Jose bringing a well past his best DD back ... heart ruled his head ...

Oscar has been underwhelming for us, for a while now ... he does need to step up this season ... I think the point being made with Torres is how can Jose be so ruthless with the likes of Mata, Sideshow, Lukaku, etc. and yet Torres is still being picked? the least deserving on 'em all?

He can't ... unfortunately, DDs well past his best ... a very poor transfer by Jose esp. because of the repercussions losing Lukaku ... which may well result in another trophyless season ... Costa can't do it all on his own.

Jose bringing DD back was probably the final straw for Lukaku ... I know who I'd rather have ...

Jose's being politically correct in saying that he's happy with our front three for this coming season ... but he's NOT kidding anyone! Costa cannot be expected to carry the whole goal-scoring burden on his shoulders alone. Torres is a 100% proven complete waste of space. And there are rightfully question marks over DD's return, at the age of 36. Overall, it's still hopelessly inadequate IMO. Therefore, I feel this will result in us falling just short, once again :0( However, it will be close but fine margins make the difference ...

There's 2 sides to every story and if managed properly I'm sure a 21 year old could have been giving enough encouragement to stay ... There's nowt wrong with ambition and confidence IMO ... Lukaku is certainly justified in claiming the back-up spot ahead of a 36 year old DD and Torres ... and he should have been told just that tbh ... he clearly wasn't and had enough ... and I for one don't blame him ...

Agree ... Poor Management IMO ... bringing DD back at 36 years old, way past his best for a single year was probably the 'straw that broke the camels back' for Lukaku ... he probably had had enough after that and personally I don't blame him ... very, very shortsightedness ... & now we are almost certainly stuck with Torrid for another year ... which promising youngster's going next? Courtois? It just wouldn't surprise me ...

Moses, Josh, Ryan, Marin, Kakuta are obviously all surplus to requirements and need to be shifted ... sold not loaned ...

The problem is it's beyond a joke now ... very fine margins win games ... if the only chances of any important game fall to Torres he just cannot be relied upon or trusted ... therefore, IMO he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the first team ... or football pitch, for that matter ... Torres is consistently shocking in front of goal ... what is he doing still playing for us ... a total liability ...

My thoughts too ... The difference between winning the prem and coming third last year was probably down to not having Lukaku around ... the same may be said this year, if he goes ... There's nothing wrong with confidence and who can blame him being pissed off when he feels he is being overlooked for 'sh*te' Torres, Ba & now Drogs, past his prime ... JM should be reassuring Lukaku that he's definitely very highly valued ... let's hope so?

I think we are in agreement here. My previous post hopes this *is* the 'straw that breaks the camels back' with Torres ... "If Drogs return is the catalyst for Torres leaving then this could well prove to be a masterstroke :0) !!!" However, my concern is ... "However, if this signing results in Lukaku leaving then it will be a total disaster, IMO ... Torres is well Torrid ... and Drogs, like Lamps is well past his best ... no plan B ..."
