Posted February 10, 200916 yr Deco dismay over Scolari Chelsea midfielder Deco has spoken of his dismay and shock at the decision to sack manager Luiz Felipe Scolari. The 31-year-old was signed in the summer by Scolari for £7.9million from Barcelona after the pair worked together in the Portuguese national team. The former Porto ace was away on international duty when he heard the news as Portugal prepare for a friendly with Finland on Wednesday. The Brazil-born playmaker admitted that the main reason he had been persuaded to come to Stamford Bridge was Scolari himself. "Scolari is a good coach and he should have been given more time to get the project right," he told the Daily Star. "I was shocked when I heard the news, I almost could not believe it. The reason I came to Chelsea was to play for Scolari. PITY YOU DIDNT THEN ! "He explained the ambitious project they had here and I decided to sign and rejected a lot of other offers Striker Didier Drogba also revealed his alarm at the decision while he was away with the Ivory Coast squad. The former Marseille man has not featured as much as he would have liked under the World Cup winner after failing to rediscover his form of previous seasons. "It's true results haven't been the best," he told the Daily Mirror. "But we had time to put things right and enough fighting qualities, especially with our progression in the UEFA Champions League. But our bad results have been decisive. "I didn't know much about the sacking. Someone called me and told me what had happened. "When I left London no one was talking about this happening. The club never spoke to the players." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4910125,00.html
February 10, 200916 yr I would suspect its a safe bet Deco will not be here come the start of next season.
February 10, 200916 yr maybe deco should have got his finger out a little bit more, and then he wouldnt be so dismayed
February 10, 200916 yr No manager in the world other than Scolari (bffs) would pick Deco right now, that's why he's dismayed more than anything.
February 10, 200916 yr I would suspect its a safe bet Deco will not be here come the start of next season. What a shame, after all he's done for the team
February 10, 200916 yr Thank you BJD. It's been agony finding a replacement for Carlo in the Chelsea-camp, so for now I've come up with a change of sport altogether.
February 10, 200916 yr I would suspect its a safe bet Deco will not be here come the start of next season. Seconded and good riddance at that.
February 10, 200916 yr He should be shocked and dismayed by his own form and performances he 's had over the last several months.
February 10, 200916 yr Where was he in the press before this, defending his manager? Where was he on the field? INVISIBLE. Zero sympathy for him. Came here to loaf and thats what he did, now the free ride is over. Pull yourself up by your boot straps Deco, time to be a professional and do what you did at Barca
February 10, 200916 yr Deco came for the high wage and to play under a manger he referred to as like a father. Think he may be off to america/middle east in summer

February 10, 200916 yr Deco told the Daily Star? Quite - that should have been the ed of this thread.
February 10, 200916 yr JT's quotes right now being read on SSN. "He had my support, thats for sure, and I am sure that 2 or 3 other players would say exactly the same thing" (anyone else confused by that) "Unfortunately the blame for our season has fallen on his head. Maybe it shouldve fallen on ours a lot more" (really no maybe about it, not so much him, but the usual suspects)

Maybe it shouldve fallen on ours a lot more" (really no maybe about it, not so much him, but the usual suspects) no maybe about it, they certainly should have taken more stic for the way theyve played the last couple of months. i honestly cant think of anyone other than ash cole and maybe riccy who has played anywhere near the top of their form for more than one game at a time.
February 10, 200916 yr I think our defense is not to blame for our current form at all. Cech is the only one who seems to have a hard time, but even there he could be back on the top. The person in charge will need to reconstruct our whole team from the front, and will need to sell many players. That's one thing we will need to understand, the new manager must have two years to orgnize a good team. Ranieri did it in sorts for JM, JM had a good number of players used to playing together and that were a strong and young side. So what this means, next year we might not contend for the title, all the better, give the youngsters playing time and fight on less fronts. We will not have the dept, like we don't have it right now, to fight for 4 cups. Play only youngsters in the FA and Carling Cups, and play your stars in CL (or UEFA Cup) and the league. Setup a good system and a new transfer system where we don't give away money because we're Chelsea. We have now a good youth system, we should be able to find the new core of the team, the new Terry or Lampard. One intresting tought about JTs comments, last year when we had the discussion that the squad as turned on Grant, Terry came out to either put the links back together in the club or to protect Grant. He has done none of it for Scolari, so it makes you wonder how much support did he really have from the board and the players.

I think your right, and I think that might be down to the absence of Clarke. Once he left, the team and its spirit really just seemed to evaporate. I think last years squad, even if Grant was not as able as Scolari based on his prior experience, was glued very tightly together because lord knows the way they fought back from a dire start was impressive, and that has to be attributable to "players" coaches like Clarkie and team leaders like JT helping to create that togetherness. So maybe JT was just more naturally bristling at criticism then I wonder if Steve Clarke was still here, and still in his old role, how the players wouldve rebounded in form, responded to criticism, etc. Another 'what if' to ponder
