dkw
the arroganc and ignorance is breathtaking. so that wasnt alves trying to get malouda sent off every time he went within 5 yards of him n the first half then. and it wasnt toure (and others) waving imaginary cards around at every opportunity. it seems there might be new players but there just as bad a bunch of losers as the last time we played them. that time it was refs, stewards and anyone they could find to blame. they remind of arsenal, when there winning its all smiles and everyones happy. as soon as it doesnt go there way the spiteful and nasty side comes out. That last comment is bang on. They are exactly like Arsenal, a bunch of spoilt brats who kick, scream and throw their toys out of the pram the moment things go against them. Btw, were there ever any comebacks for Barca's disgraceful antics after that game? Iirc, amongst other things they trashed their dressing room, smashed up a fridge and tussled with Chelsea stewards. Guest bigjockknew
By Paul Elliott? I should think he would:LINK I hated Elliott when he was at Celtic but only because he was so committed and good. I remember him getting knocked spark out after sticking his face in the way of a goal bound rocket at an Old Firm game - bittersweet memeoryTo be fair to him he was always articulate and fair - no wonder he had to leave the Tattie Bowl - an intelligent, well balanced nad quality player - get him away from Celtic and where could someone like that go erm....Chelsea

You forgot "...and fabricated allegations of racism against a black Chelsea steward". That was in 2005. I think UEFA have yet to fix a date for the hearing. BLUENUT
I think it's great they are bitching cos it shows we've got under their skin big time. Perhaps they see their chance of a final slipping away from them. In the 2nd half alot of them were going over for nothing and it looked like alot of their players would have rather come off than fight for the cause. bjd
Its so ridiculous, but yet why are we surprised. Yeah next time we will go out there and roll over and have our tummy tickled like every other team has at the nou camp this season. that would be fair. perhaps we should lay the red carpet out for them at the bridge and give then a 10 minute skill session too to wow the fans. bunch of pricks. we can play how we want, no it wasnt pretty but the barca players and fans have to understand we are chelsea and we dont bow down to anyone, just like liverpool or man utd wouldnt have (thouh i suspect they wouldve put 10 past arsenal) jesus , they didnt score and they didnt win so its not fair mummy. TheWestwayWonder
I think it's great they are bitching cos it shows we've got under their skin big time. exactly. If they were not frustrated as hell by what went on, they would keep their mouths shut. We have them right where we want them. They were already frustrated with the officials and eachother when things didnt go for them. If we can take an early lead at the Bridge and rattle them, hopefully they go to pieces. Memories of 2005 and 6 started to come flooding back when I was watching that game. Hands in the air for fouls. Riddiculous overacting on every clash. Waving imaginary cards. I remembered the whinging bunch of riddiculous cheats they had been back then, and I see despite a new lineup and manager, not much has changed about their attitude. I would venture to say they are even worse then Arsenal in this regard. Its almost as if they cant believe anyone would have the audacity to come to their pitch and not allow them to play their free flowing brand of football. At least Arsenal generally reserve the bitching for when they are denied a trophy somehow. The rest of the world is laughing at them because they were neutralized, had no plan B, and made fools of themselves trying unsuccessfully to boss the referee. I gave Xavi far more credit than that. In the past, he has generally been one of the quiet ones. At least Messi managed to keep his gob shut. I sincerely hope Guus and the team are listening to every last word

Barca know their best chance of doing us is if we are reduced to 10 men so they are already trying to influence the ref for next week.
icecoolguy22
I didnt hear them complain when they beat Bayern 4:0 at home. We don't need any motivation next week, but this will help us further. Hopefully next week we will hear the crowd chant 'boring boring Chelsea' when we go 3 up . Thanks god we were not able to sign Alves. His antics on the field make me want hate him even if he is one of our own.
Oblivion
The way I see it, Barca are just running scared right now. They've seen the strength of our defence, and know of the potency of our attack. Not getting the goals at home puts them at a real disadvantage seeing how it is entirely possible we WILL outscore them next week. Cluck-cluck-CLUUUCCKK! evissy
Barcelona players are probably the most spoiled players in the world concerning refereeing. Their huge and loud crowd plus the low level in Spanish refereeing makes the decisions go their way at their home games. Just watch any barca home game and you see the referees crumble under pressure. I actually think they are not going to do anything about it in the cabinets as the influence of the "twelvth player"(12th) makes the crowd want to come to games more. Its better business so to say. They act like they invented football and their game makes the mark how to play and make judgements on tackles and such..I fu*king hate it! I think the referee did very well (Starck). He missed the Bosingwa shirt pull although Henry had no chance on that ball and he gave a blatant freekick to Barca close to our penalty area. So I think it was 1-1 on that area. He didn't go to Drogba and Ballack dives and all the freekicks he gave were well judged. I'd let him judge Chelsea games in the future too. Fu*k off you fu*king world's own jewel unicef 'sponsored' barcelona. Just started to hate them alot. Fu*k!
