ozboy
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...and&cc=3436 These comments of Glen's ring true to me and make me think that as much as I like Mourinho there is always an element of scandal there. I'd rather a title and some scandal than cleanliness and 3rd or 4th.
TheWestwayWonder
I'd rather a title and some scandal than cleanliness and 3rd or 4th. words, no doubt, that will be written on Jose Mourinho's tombstone :D Move along, Johno. Is the Barca game that he is referring to the one where Boularouz put Ronaldinho in his pocket for 90 minutes?
jack h
You would have to ask Jose Mourinho what his reasons were, but I know it was because he didn't want to see me play well again and be forced to pick me for the Barcelona game. Yes thats it glen, he didnt want to see you play well. :D
icecoolguy22
If you are a right back and can't defend, you aren't going to make into Jose's team. Johnson had plenty of chances to prove himself under Jose, but failed, end of the story. I still don't think he can defend, otherwise Fergi would have put in a bid for him (with ugly Neville retiring and Oshea not a real right back). g3.7
bah- it's obvious that jose wasn't interested in johnson and that he didn't man manage him well. it was obvious then, whether these allegations are true or not doesn't matter really.
Captain Haribo
Seems to think he's a bit of Billy Big Bollocks after his move to Liverpool, does Johnson. Boyhood fan, don't you know! So was Robbie Keane, Glen, and look how that went.

Exactly right. And it also follows that it doesn't really matter why Mourinho didn't have faith in Johnson. All that matters is that he didn't. And if your manager doesn't have faith in you, then a move elsewhere is the best for all concerned. Mourinho can justify his actions pretty easily. We beat a very good Barcelona side over two legs in a famous victory for Chelsea. If I remember rightly, Paolo Ferreira played really well. That's his job as a manager - to win matches, not to be Mr Nice Guy to Glen Johnson and give him opportunities to further his career. Who's to say that we would have got the same result if Johnson had been at right back for that match?
Bridgeboy
Thats funny because he couldn't trust you at right back !
TheWestwayWonder
I wonder how the brilliant and wise Rafa feels about Glen signing for Liverpool, and then going off at the mouth about a coach he had 2 years ago. I know the dippers live in the past and all, but cmon
rolo_88
Paulo was better than Johnson at the time.. hows that different from any other team in the world, someone better than you, in your position, gets played ahead of you.. Geta grip mate!

Geta grip mate! Very true however I wish Jose had stuck to that philosophy as Paulo was better than every other right back that Jose chose to play ahead of him as well. Captain Haribo
Who was Ferreira dropped in favour of under Mourinho? He was first choice when fit until Bosingwa's arrival, as far as I can remember.
loz
You remember wrong. Jose picked all sorts of players at right back ahead of Paulo including Boulahrouz, Diarra and Essien.
Captain Haribo
Fair enough on Boulahrouz, I remember him getting a short run there. I always thought Diarra and Essien only played there while Paolo was injured.
That Boy Brandinho
Evidently Jose couldn't trust Johnson...to defend.

PloKoon13
It has emerged that Liverpool are paying Glen Johnson a staggering £139,000 a week. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The Moos
So this mean that if we really was in for Johnson then we actually made Liverfool not only spend a small fortune on a player who isn't that great, but we also got them to give him a £139.000-a-weak contract. Wages he surely does not deserve and that might stir some discord at Liverfool. Maybe Kenyon did a great job for once  How nice wouldn't it be if it turns out that we - as one of Johnsons former clubs - get a piece of those £17million Pool payed :D
