Lofty's Wall of Sound - What are you listening to?

Today, 4 January, is the 30th anniversary of the sad passing of Phil Lynott, the lead of the finest band to come out of Ireland. In tribute, a couple of Thin Lizzy's fines songs:

I know Black Rose was build on some traditional Irish tunes, but was Emerald as well?

Phil Lynott is a legend and his death was a huge loss. I'm pleased that Dublin has a statue in his honour.

I love both songs, but am also a fan of another Celtic-influenced rock song that isn't that well known - The Crossing by Big Country, which weirdly was left off their debut album despite giving it its title. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3M3NGavq91Q

The studio version is better but seems to be blocked by YouTube.

Now, look what you did! Now I'm listening to TV II with the volume way too loud. Happy?

I am... :happy001:

Absolutely :)

And if we had already listened to Gibby Haynes then let's continue with one of Butthole Surfers' biggest hits.
