Terrace Taunts

Featured Replies

Did the west stand not sing.....eio,eio,eio at one time. I think I remember that against Millwall and that two bob pikey club. That was about 1986.

E,I,O, - we used to call it the three vowel song, sang it in the Whitewall quite a bit too, during corners if I remember. There was a punching the air dance that went with it too.

Not really a taunt, but at one game at Fratton Park in the 80's, there was this Pompey bird with the biggest knockers I've ever seen. They were so big that she had them propped on top of a crowd barrier. Of course the Chelsea boys soon clocked her & started singing "one Tina Small, there's only one Tina Small" which proves just how many of us read the Sunday Sport back then.

I remember the shed singing E.I.O & surging/jumping up & down, could never work out what it was about but i always took part when i was stood in the middle.

I dont know if this little ditty has been mentioned, but i recall this one being sung after a night on the beer and when everyone started getting a bit nostalgic. when we were not that good. So here goes, it was sung to that old trojan classic "Snoopy verses the Red Baron".

Ten, twenty thirty,forty,fifty,or more,

Chelsea in the north bank running up the score,

Eighty Arsenal died in a spree,

When Chelsea run riot at Highbury,

And out of a corner,a hero arose,

A dodgey looking geezer with a big red nose,

His name was A*****s, they said his insane,

And the north bank Highbury was taken again!

,

Linesman, linesman you're a c**t

Linesman, you're a c**t!

In the darkest depths of Liverpool

Where the Arsenal's never been

Lies an half dead 'scouse git covered in blood

Where the North Stand's kicked him in

To hell with Liverpool

To hell with Man City

We'll fight, fight, fight for the Chelsea 'till we win the football league.

 I always remembered that as:

(to the tune of United States Marines);

"On the cold dark streets of Merseyside,

where the West Hams never been.

Lies the chewed up body of a scouse git,

where the North Stand's kicked him in.

Farewell to Liverpool,

To hell with Man City,

Coz, we'll fight, fight, fight for the Chelsea, till we win the football league"

I posted with Bluebeard about it a long time ago and I recall he had a slightly different version, but either way. A proper Old Skool football song.

"There's only one way out"

Our old ground was horrible and the chant that went up from the Shed to the away fans knowing not only did they have to get past the North Stand, at the end of the road the Shed were waiting for them ,I have got too admit I now feel sorry for some of those away fans trying to escape from Stamford Bridge must have been a nightmare.   The chant was chilling.

Not so chilling for away fans who were generally kept behind until the coast was clear, and then had the benefit of a heavy police escort back to their coaches or the underground.

As for the "Darkest side of Liverpool", this is how I remember it:

In the darkest side of Liverpool

Where the Mile End's never been

Lies the chewed up body of a scouse git

Where the North Stand's kicked him in

To Hell with Liverpool

To Hell with Man City

Coz we will fight fight fight for the Chelsea

Till we win the football league

Our fans chanting "We'll race you back to London!"

Sung today at Old Trafford.

Brilliant! Glad to know it'll never die.

Yeah thought that was great today.

"It's a long way to Fulham Broadway,

It's a long way to go"

(It's a long way to Tipperary).

"We'll see you both outside".

(Those were the days).

"Those were the days my friend

We took the Stretford end

We took the Shelf, the North Bank Highbury

We'd fight and never lose"

Can't remember the last bit!

Slight variation:

Those were the days my friend

We took the Stretford End

We took the Kop, we took the f**king lot

We'd fight and never lose

Then we'd sing "Up The Blues"

Those were the days, oh yes those were the days.

Your not thinking of Knees up mother brown are you? It was always accompanied by much jumping up and down and surging of the crowd. Interesting when sung to accompanying jumping in the confines of a moving tube train, a bit scary to be fair!

Nah mate definitly E.I.O ect i also remember knees up.... in the shed, it was always quality when sung on tubes to whl/highbury/upton park with the tube rocking from side to side lol!

THIS IS THE ONE I REMEMBER SINGING...THE ONLY VARIATION WAS STREETS INSTEAD OF SIDE.....

Sometimes a few would end this tune with........WE LL BE FIGHTING ALL OUR LIVES

                                                                         FIGHTING ALL OUR LIVES

                                                                         FIGHTING ALL OUR LIVES

I remember it as...

In the dark back streets of Liverpool

Where the Mile End's never been

Lies the chewed up body of a scouse git

...then again, my memory isn't what it was.

A couple of pissed up blokes behind me in the Park Lane in '78 tried to get this one going, I don't think it ever did though.

To the tune of We wish you a merry Christmas.

Ardiles is a w**ker

he comes from Argentina

and Villa is a poofter

he sucks Ossie's cock.

" Pineapple on his head"  very spontaneous I thought , I think they played the crowd singing it on Baddiel and Skinners fantasy football league show .
