Oblivion Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 DROGBA TWO-MATCH UEFA BANPosted on: Tue 30 Mar 2010 Didier Drogba has been given a two-match suspension from European competition as a result of being sent off in Chelsea's Champions League match versus Inter. A Uefa statement reads: Chelsea FC striker Didier Drogba has been suspended by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body for two European club competition matches after being sent off in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg against FC Internazionale Milano in London on 16 March. The suspension applies to the next two club competition matches for which Drogba would be eligible. The player's existing period of probation, which began on 15 July 2009 and was originally intended to run for two years, has also been extended to 15 July 2013. An appeal may be lodged within three days of the sending of the reasoned decision. Seriously can't be buggered about this. Not because we're out of the CL, but because things never change. Discuss anyway.
The Brit Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 as he was sent off for violent conduct then this was inevitable...what is ridiculous is the fact they have extended the probation over the suspended two-game ban until 2013
Barn Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Reading the title of the thread I thought he wasn't allowed to use the official website any more!
Spiller86 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Who cares, we had no issue this season with his suspension. What I was really worried about was he'd done something stupid and been stood down, keeping him out of the Man U game this weekend. To my relief it was only the CL.

Phillip Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Oops! Oblivion, to have such a post topic right before the ManU game is not fair, and gave me a few skipped heart beats. What, are you a sadist who wants to terrorize your fellow Chelsea fans? Come on now, be kind to us from now on, since that thread title was uncalled for.

dkw Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Why? It's the right decision. was it? are you certain it was a red card, because im not.
Andreas Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Looking at the replays of it, looks like he wanted to step on him, but you never know, its a 50/50 here, and UEFA went for the ban. f**kers.
bjd Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 was it? are you certain it was a red card, because im not. yes, it was a silly thing to do and a clear red. only surprise is uefa didn't make it a longer ban - but we should be use to him missing the start of our euro campaigns anyway
TheWestwayWonder Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Dont really care, to be honest. Hopefully his response is on the field saturday Reading the title of the thread I thought he wasn't allowed to use the official website any more! hahaha

Barry Bridges Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 yes, it was a silly thing to do and a clear red. only surprise is uefa didn't make it a longer ban - but we should be use to him missing the start of our euro campaigns anyway Ya well not calling 3 rugby tackles in the box is a silly thing to do aswell, yet do you think that ref will face any punishment. Again, absolutely gobsmacked how a ref can fail to see the rugby tackle, but 1 second later admist a sea of legs see's drogba step on his foot......stamp would be a bit of an embelishment btw.

Agreed. I didn't even see it and I was watching carefully to see if Inter cheated any more. He trod on him at worst. Paul Scholes did worse today (and in most games come to think of it) and got nothing for it.
icecoolguy22 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 The sooner we treat CL as a second rate compeition, the better we will go in future endevaours.
