Chelsea vs Aston Villa (FA Cup Semi) 10/04/10 1700 KO

Featured Replies

Same again please Carlo with the exception of Drogba replacing Anelka in the starting line up.

Villa will still be smarting after we put 7 past them and will be looking to restore some pride. I am sure they will play a hell of a lot better and we may just be on the end of a few point making tackles. I don't mean thuggery, just that they may be keen to get the message across that they aren't there to be rolled over.

Play the way did in the first half yesterday and we have one foot in the final already. Play the way in the first 25 minutes of the second half and we will be trouble.

Personally id start with the same team, but only because its Villa.

Just imagine seeing the Chelsea team sheet being pinned up on the wall knowing this was a team of XI players who had stuck 7 past you a fortnight earlier.

Whoever starts its going to be a tough match. Lets hope JTs comments dont come back to haunt us, f**k me the media and MON will love that.

I would play the same team against Villa and like having the luxuary of Drogba on the bench, I think come 60 minutes the opposition defenders are casting an eye towards our bench and thinking "its been bad enough, don't let us have to defend against Drogba now" and the different way we play is like a ready made plan B by just one player change.

I think Paulo is easily doing well enough for us to be able to bring Ivanovich back very gradually.

I wouldn't worry too much about JTs comments getting the Villa team up for the game, if they're not up for it already what are they doing in an FA Cup final? a very big trophy and a great one to win for anybody and for a team like Villa who are starting to challenge seriously for that fourth spot and some CL action it would be special.

I hope Drogba can keep his game as he did yesterday if he is used off the bench and I feel maybe with his niggling injury he has discussed it with Carlo and it could be the plan to make sure he gets through the whole season before having an operation, he certainly never looked put out by being on the bench and I would have expected him to.

Fixed it for myself :)

Former star inter alia, Celtic Stiliyan Petrov warns Chelsea before their semi-final match of his team.

Both teams, The Villans "and" The Blues will face in the semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley, is the favorite to win the number one team in west London.

John Terry has told the press after the game when Chelsea won 7:1 against Aston Villa that in the clash in the 1 / 2 of the final of the FA Cup awaits an easy task. Bulgarian has a completely different opinion.

It's simple, he only said so because the Blues won 7:1 with us, but nothing I have not heard if our team won 2-1 against Chelsea at Villa Park. There is simply too sure of himself.

And me, his sentence does not care too much. No club, which has reached the 1 / 2 finale is not accidental, all teams are very strong. Terry said that he will not be watching videos from our participation, but we're going. It shows how we neglect.

Terry is a great player and has the right to say what he wants and how he wants. With Chelsea won again, once lost, now comes a loss in the semifinals, so both teams have equal chances. There is no better time to play with Chelsea. We want to take revenge for the 7:1 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

From what I see, everyone in the team is mobilized to advance to the finals of the FA Cup. Some of us are fighting for a trip to the World Cup with the representation of England. This group really, really old and fights.

The league game will bear no reflection on this one. Villa will be out to show that was a one off plus they have already played at Wembley this year and have a taste of the place. I'm with Loz in that we should play the same team with the exception of Drogs in for Nico if only to give Villa something new to think about. Nico won pretty much every ball in the air at the Bridge so imagine what Didi could do. 4-3-3 pleae Carlo

I'd go with the same team that started against Villa and United and bring Drogs on after 60 mins or so. I would also like to see Sturridge get a few mins if not the full 90.

Drogba in for Anelka, otherwise the same team. I dont' think Anelka played well in the last 2 games, the difference was Malouda and Coloe both in form, and Deco run the midfield instance of the statue like Ballack.

Villa can't be taken lightly as they'll be out for revenge and we can't afford to be complacent. Carlo should field his strongest side. Perhaps start with the same team as before. However, I won't complain if he starts Drogba instead of Anelka. Will be more than satisfied with a 2-0 win.

Onwards and Upwards, Chelsea!

Expecting Villa to put up a fight as compared to the game at the Bridge. I'd start with the same team that played against United and I am sure they will getrr the job done.

Aston Villa striker, Nathan Delfouneso wants to play an important role in the FA Cup semi-final match in which his team will face Chelsea at Wembley in London.

19-year-old striker played a good meeting in the Premier League first team as a player AV.

Delfouneso last season for Aston Villa scored two goals in the UEFA European (UEFA Cup even then).

It would be a great achievement for me to participate in such a sword and get a chance to play. - Says Delfouneso.

Although it did not win the Carling Cup is still in the FA Cup game against Chelsea is for me and my colleagues a great challenge. Still collecting experience either on the bench or playing in the square. If you are playing against Chelsea on Saturday it will be a really big step in my career.

Nathan Delfouneso this season has twice scored goals for Aston Villa in the FA Cup matches, against Blackburn and Brighton.

Aston Villa players will be able to strengthen its composition, in order to avoid such a defeat they suffered 11 days ago. Recall that when Chelsea crushed Aston Villa 7-1.

This type of result as in the game against Chelsea is something that will not soon forget. You will always remember this result which we have suffered so badly at Stamford Bridge. However, this result can have a positive impact on us, we can come out there and deal with that failure.

On Saturday we will go out even more eager to win, you'll want to beat Chelsea and reach a second final this season. - Nathan Delfouneso ends.

Former football player among others Aston Villa's Paul Merson said that he thought Chelsea come out victorious from the duel of The Villans.

On Saturday, come to a skirmish, Chelsea and Aston Villa, that rate will rise to the great FA Cup final. The team that wins this meeting, will play against Tottenham or Portsmouth

The Englishman admitted that Chelsea will have an advantage in meeting with the Villans, as they are in a big gas after the victory against Aston Villa (7:1) and Manchester United (2-1).

At the beginning, he would not reveal what the outcome of Saturday 'tips of the match, but was convinced in the end he said. Believes that the outcome will fall 3-0 to Carlo Ancelotti's team.

Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "Didier is a very important player for us. Sometimes a player can be useful when he only plays 30 minutes.

"Didier did this very well against Manchester United. He was fresh when he came on the pitch and he did a fantastic job. He scored."

Drogba has an excellent strike record at Wembley, including a double strike in last season's FA Cup semi-final and the equaliser against Everton in the final.

Ancelotti added: "Drogba will not stay on the bench on Saturday. He will play from the beginning."

Ancelotti is excited at the prospect of his first competitive game at Wembley. He said: "We are happy to play at Wembley. It is a fantastic stadium and there will be a fantastic atmosphere. The pitch is not a problem."

Having been knocked out of the Champions League by former boss Jose Mourinho last month, Ancelotti confirmed Chelsea are now targeting a domestic double, something he has never achieved as a coach.

"After the defeat against Inter, it became our aim to win the double. But we have to play six or seven games and every game will be difficult because it is the end of the season and every team has an aim."

Ancelotti will wait to decide whether or not to play Hilario ahead of Cech in goal, given that Hilario is struggling with a groin strain. "Hilario has played all the games in the FA Cup but he had a little problem this week so I want to wait until Saturday to make a decision," he said.

Cech not starting if Hilarious is fully fit - surely not, must be more mind games, Carlo is learning fast.

Seriously foresee a tight match, Chelsea's recent semi and final experiences will hopefully tip the scales. The Villans have been there once this season, but they never really troubled the scum that day back in February, they do however have a fully fit squad only Dunne is questionable today but you know he will play come Saturday tea time.

Keep the faith, the Spuds will most likley await if we make the final.

Regardless if we advance(and I say this purely for the purpose of not jinxing us) I hope its Portsmouth who hits the final, and not the spuds.

but Im sure Im not the only one ::ChELSeAFaN::

BTW, AV? :sign0070:

:yeahthat:

oh lord having too much fun with these!

Need a good start and 2 early goals to knock any confidence they have out of their system. Good job we are playing on Sat as the pitch will be a mess on Sunday. I hope we don't get into playing a patient 'knock it around the back four' game or we could be in trouble. If we score early I'll take 3-0, if we mess around it might get ugly and be a nail biter....play a first half like we did against Utd and it's game over... see you in the final..
