he's just not interested

to the english team's stars international football is just a distraction

i thought capello had changed that but it's not the case.

the other thing is the quality of service he gets at united (from valencia, giggs etc) is FAR better than what he gets from lennon or SWP

These two are perfect examples of English football at its worst. Not picking skill and vision but two Forrest Gump's is something I don't understand from Capello. On a good day they can do harm but more than often their lack of vision and passing skill is doing harm to their own team. I'm very glad Chelsea has Malouda and not SWP.

I think England will fall in the next game. Not because Rooney is not firing but because he has to operate with these type of players. Also the midfield isn't working. Drop either Lampard or Gerrard. One is better than two in this case.

I'll second that.

For most of these players, the World Cup will be the pinnacle of their careers. And Rooney probably more than any other player (perhaps bar JT) is passionate to the extreme (except when it comes to singing the National Anthem - which does wind me up).

He looks barely 50% fit to me. He's never had the natural physique of a footballer and God knows what his diet consists of but the way he looks at the moment, he'll be lucky if he's still playing by the time he reaches 30.

Great point which makes me think of the "Little Engine Who Could" once over the top. He's the oldest 24 yr old ever.

he's a fat hot-headed, foul-mouthed, short-tempered, over-rated scouser who has been pumped up by the sycophantic Great British Press as our "World Beater", coming off the back of a relatively successful season being fed quite well by a quite good Manc side, but ending up with an injury that is worse than we have been allowed to know.
