Looks like there is a chance Dennis Wise might be taking over the reigns at Charlton. Would certainly be interesting to see how he fared there.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1343994/Phil-Parkinson-axed-Charlton-Dennis-Wise-emerges-contender-managers-job.html

Heh, I've heard that Charlton's new owner is friends with Dennis Wise, so have seen this rumour coming for a few days now. Needless to say I have sent my Charlton-supporting friends countless 'he scored a f**king great goal... at the San Siro... with ten minutes to go' texts.

Meanwhile, rumours are surfacing that Sheva might be on his way back here, either as part of Ancelotti's backroom staff or as a "club official"

One Sunday tabloid carries a remarkable suggestion!

It implies that Andriy Shevchenko could be on the verge of a sensational return to Stamford Bridge!

The Ukraine striker, who cost an absolute fortune but failed to live up to expectations during his days here as a player, is being tipped by the tabloid to return to Chelsea as part of Ancelotti`s backroom staff or even as a club official, if anybody quite knows what one of them is!

Naturally, as is always the case, the tabloid has a few quotes to back their article up, with the quotes this time, coming from a friend of Andriy`s in a Ukraine paper, quotes which read,

"For Andriy, Roman Abramovich is just like an elder brother."

"Sheva is an open and honest person, which is why people are attracted by him."

"Abramovich has already had a conversation with him suggesting that after hi splaying career is over he would like to see him working for Chelsea either as one of the coaches or as an official of the club."

One more reason to hate Wayne Bridge, or one more reason to hate West Ham. You decide:

Bridge happy with Hammers move

We don't play West Ham at home till April. Assuming they both play, it'll be interesting to see whether the thick as two short ones drama queen refuses to shake JT's hand for a second season in succession.

I don't have any real problem with him. He was a good player when he was here, won't forget his goal against Le Arse in a hurry. And really, quitting the international team cos Terry's in it and refusing to shake his hand is hardly a big deal.

I disagree. Because of all the accompanying melodrama: Bellamy and Tevez's "Team Bridge" t-shirts, making a point of saying he couldn't face to be in the same squad as JT as soon as the story hit the press, and the drama around the deliberate snub that was refusing to shake JT's hand. You may see all this as no big deal, but from my point of view, any lingering gratitude for his time in a Chelsea shirt went out the window as a result of all that.

My take is that the team's form suffered as a result of the masses of bad press that were going around at the time, and that Wayne Bridge knowingly and deliberately played a part in all that.

But you say yourself it was "Bellamy and Tevez" who started the whole "Team Bridge" thing, not him. And the "drama" was created by the media. None of that was from him. In fact I don't remember reading very much from him about the whole thing, he kept quite a low profile. it was simply the media coverage which made it into something larger than it was.

Is that true though? Do you honestly believe that Bellamy and Tevez would have worn those t-shirts without Bridge's knowledge, or against his wishes?

As I said, he came out and said he could no longer face being in the same England squad as JT as soon as the story hit the media. He had no problem before that. Same with refusing to shake JT's hands, or return his phone calls, so I heard. You may be ok with that, I see it as melodramatic bullsh*t, in which Wayne Bridge knowingly played a full part.

I believe Tevez and Bellamy are both morons, who are quite capable of doing something like that on their own. I highly doubt it was Bridge's idea though, and I imagine it would be a bit embarrassing to have to tell your teammates not to wear shirts in support of you. But maybe Im wrong. I just don't really see what all the fuss is about.

Well you're entitled to your opinion, but as I wrote, everything pointed towards Wayne Bridge going along with the media campaign. Remember the build up to the "will he won't he" shake his hand moment? I think back to the way he snubbed JT and I think "you smarmy bloody prick". Wayne Bridge knew exactly what he was doing, and he knew full well the effect it was having on JT. Which is what it was all about. Undermine JT, undermine Chelsea. And it worked. Remember how our form dipped while all that was going on? It's this and this alone that makes it a big deal.

Wayne Bridge had no problem being in the same England squad as JT until the story hit the press. With gagging orders in place it's extremely difficult to believe that this was the first he'd heard of it.

Also bear in mind that both parties denied any affair ever took place. Nothing was ever proved. various news sources were in fact, eventually forced to issue apologies. And yet Wayne Bridge acted as he did not on the word of his apparent best mate or his ex girlfriend, but because of what he read in the press. Whichever way you look at it, he's a prick.

Just my opinion, of course.

Wayne, how far you've fallen. That goal against Arsenal would qualify anybody for a lifetime in Chelsea supporters' hearts. From the handshake to this, it's only taken him a year to end up in the bin.

Wayne Bridge may have scored one of my favourite Chelsea goals, but all the "team bridge" sh*te was patheticand he did nothing to quell it. The handshake was totally his way of "one upping" JT, at least JT had the decency to offer his hand.

Then for him to say "I can't play in the same team as JT" was a complete cop out because he knew he wasn't good enough to even make the team.

Simple, Bridge has gone way down in my opinion of him as a human being

Hes a pathetic little prissy drama queen, playing the hard done by martyr in all that bullsh*t story yet he left the woman months earlier because of his own infidelities (allegedly). The only one hard done by in that whole sh*tty thing was Terry`s missus, Bridge had nothing to whinge abut considering she was the ex of a few other players at Chelsea before he got his hands on her, so should they shun Bridge and ignore him? He made the most of the situation knowing the press would hammer Terry for it and make him out to be a saint, the only reason behind it was for it to disrupt us for the game against City. So he wa that gutted and upset about the whole thing yet he was more than happy using the situation to win a game of football. Yeah, he must have been devastated, the moany little prick.

and yes

God damn how he fell in my eyes. Its ironic in a way, because I will remember him first and foremost like this

and I am sure among Chelsea folk I wont be alone, because that was the important bit. But the vast majority of football fans and other folk will just remember him as the cuckold who celebrated with such luminaries as Stephen Ireland, Craig Bellend and Carlos billion dollar man Tevez, wearing matching tshirts like they were on a hen night.

Anyone know how Stoch is getting on in Turkey ? Can't find any readable match reports

I recall someone posting a while back that he is scoring bunches of goals in the Turkish league.

Jon Harley just played for Notts County in their draw with City in the Cup.

I didn't see the game, but according to BBC he put in a top performance.

He played really well to be fair, got forward well and got stuck in too. Such a disappointment he never made it with us, I remember the year he appeared and was talking up his chances as Englands Left back for the 96 Euro`s. Even my mate a Utd fan agreed at the time, he looked bloody quality.

JON HARLEY, JON HARLEY, JON HARLEY, JON HARLEY, JON HARLEY, JON HARLEY.
