loz Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 So many options this week! Drogba for his finish and the work rate he put in, not just up front but also winning about 1,000 defensive headers. Essien for being everything to all men and one lucky gal! Mikel for soaking up more pressure at the back than any of us probably ever thought he was capable of. Alex for a non stop show of solidity at the back followed by a free kick which is currently orbiting Jupiter. I went for Alex but it could have one of many.
KrazyTea Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I went with Alex for his screamer, how could you not?
PloKoon13 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I went for Mikel although Alex was a f**king titan and capped it off with a ridiculous goal. Absolutely brilliant.
amART Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Alex 1. best in defence today 2. goal was sick
Threepw00d Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Alex!!! very good defending from our CB and of course his thunderclap.
BlueBeard Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I've gone for Mikel, he looked more comfortable on the ball when we were under pressure - he seems to improve with every game. Good performances by Essien, Alex, Ashley, Drogs & Ramires
Blue Steel Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Thought everyone bar Anelka played very well today, our whole midfield played well and our defence was rock solid. Alex gets it for the free kick, reminded me of his thunderbolt against Liverfool in the CL.
Hutch Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I went for Ashley Cole for another outstanding performance against Arsenal, besides which he was really unlucky with his offside goal.
Arq Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Went with Alex. After seeing that strike, that was the cherry on top of the sundae. I hope he isn't seriously injured though. The commentators were talking about a groin injury. I hope not. :(
Mr Chelsea Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 it was between ramires and obi for me, went for ramires in the end thought he settled into the game very well, needs to release the ball a little quicker, but if he keeps playing the way he is at the moment he can only better
charierre Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 mikel for me, he always seemed to be in the right place and his distribution was excellant.Solid game for Ramires too,he was unlucky to be flagged offside just before he was substituted.
High Street Ken Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Can't see how Ramires gets any votes. My heart was in my mouth on the many occasions when he dawdled on the ball in his own half. Granted, he grew into the game but Mikel was a colossus in comparison. Anyway, I don't care about much today...too busy laughing at the Scousers!
Gilvorak Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Went for Ash immense display from him today. So unlucky he was narrowly offside on his disallowed goal as well. :( Sure he would have really loved that.
Gilvorak Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Can't see how Ramires gets any votes. My heart was in my mouth on the many occasions when he dawdled on the ball in his own half. Granted, he grew into the game but Mikel was a colossus in comparison. After the amount of undeserved criticism he got from our fans after his display against City and the amount of stick he got at the Bridge today I'm not surprised. Was involved heavily involved in the first goal, defended brilliantly and was wrongly called offside right before he was subbed. Sure he made a few mistakes and his first touch was poor at times but it's only his 5th game or so at the club and he's still adjusting to the pace of the PL.
TheWestwayWonder Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 The midfield was immense today and I think Mikel and Essien stood out among them. I can see Ash, Drogba and Alex, but feck me I dont think Mikel put a foot wrong all day. It was majestic seeing a player his size slaloming past all Arsenal's technical players.
loz Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 Went for Ash immense display from him today. So unlucky he was narrowly offside on his disallowed goal as well. :( Sure he would have really loved that. That goal not being allowed was probably the only downside to today's game. I would wager Ashley's celebrations would have been on a par with Bridge's Champions league celebration.
dkw Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Went for Mikel, I thought he was absolutely outstanding and barely put a foot wrong all game.
Andreas Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Went for Alex, brilliant performance and that free-kick was incredible, afraid he might of got injured because of that shot though but was worth it, he's got 2 weeks off now! Mikel, Essien and Ramires were all brilliant today, mikel is growing on me and he is getting better and better after every game.
HazardsLeftPeg Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 first vote for essien :o ,must be those sitters he missed
Bobbywoodhogan Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Went for Ramires he was quality today and instrumental in the first goal
mad_mac Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Mikel for me, great game against big opposition, and opposition that has "flair" and attacked us through the middle. Alex was solid, Cole and Essien immense, and again (and I feel this is often overlooked) CECH keeps us with a clean sheet!
bluevale2 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Went for Ramires, easily his best game for us. Honourable mentions also for Cech who was solid, and Mikel who is getting better. Everyone did really well with the possible exception of Nic.
