We want John Ruddy if Cech leaves, according to paper talk :s

If memory serves me right, I think we bid £5m for him about 3 years ago, so it's quite possible that he's still on the club's radar.

Not sure that he would want to come and sit on the bench for us in truth.

Yes, we did. It's either him or Green by the looks of things, but Green is more likely I think.

In today's non Chelsea rumour the one that stood out to me was Man U signing Dani Alves. Why?

They need a quality right back and if LvG plans on returning to using the 3-5-2 wing back system someone like Alves would be well suited.

At 31 he's add a bit of experience to their defense and being available on a free is as low risk as they come, could be a good signing for them.

Trouble is getting a world class striker who is prepared to play second fiddle to Costa.

If we played with two up top it wouldn't be an issue but we are set up to only have the one.

I don't see us investing £30m on a striker to be Costa's back up.

This is why I'm buying into the Griezmann rumour because of his versatility.

He'd probably play on the wing but should Costa be unavailable he'd move front with Cuadrado or whoever then slotting into the team/squad.

Signing Alves makes sense for Man Utd. He's a top quality player with plenty of trophy-winning experience, he was at one point probably the best right back around and was a key part of the best club side of this generation.

The use of Young and Valencia as wing/full-backs suggests that van Gaal is looking for his wide defenders to provide quite a lot going forward and Alves will certainly do that. In addition, it's pretty clear that a combination of injuries and poor form have ended Rafael's chances as a serious option as a starting right-back. If Man Utd get a top centre back, a somewhat more robust midfielder and figure out who they're using up front, they should be a pretty serious threat next year, with plenty of strength in depth.

He's 32 isn't he? I get the low risk part but coming to a league as tough as this one for him at his age could be a bad move. Plus I'm sure his wages will be huge. I've never massively rated the guy either tbh he's good going forward but not great defensively.

Just turned 32 this month, just checked.

So basically give him a 2 year deal. Even if you're paying him £150k a week it probably still works out cheaper than buying a right back out right. They've been linked with Clyne pretty heavily, I think it's safe to assume he'd cost them £20m upwards, plus wages of maybe £100k a week there abouts.

So Alves is about as close to a sure thing that you can get that's available this summer.

Short term option but probably the best short term one out there.

Will add to them sadly but hopefully he struggles to adapt to the EPL (although I doubt he will).

I suppose ageing Brazilian full-backs have a bit of a mixed record when coming to the Premier League.

Maicon and Sylvinho at City, Roque Junior at Leeds... then again, Belletti for us! (I'm sure there are more)

Ballague is convinced that hes staying at Barca. Let's remember this incase he's wrong.

Borussia Dortmund are looking to sign Chelsea striker Bertrand Traore, but the Blues are keen to keep the player who has starred on loan in the Netherlands with Vitesse Arnhem.

Arsene Wenger could turn to Chelsea's Petr Cech as he seeks a new goalkeeper - Cech has been strongly linked with a move to Turkish side Besiktas.

Hope not.

Really enjoyed watching him last season in pre season, have a feeling he will go on to good things.

Is he going to get a first team chance though? We already have youth players who need to be given a chance as well, so it's pointless keeping him on loan if we can get money for him; unless we loan him to dortmund of course.
