Id much prefer we dont give any of them a contract and aim to use our own youth players to cover where needed. We have several senior players to cover midfield, bringing in someone on loan for 2 or 3 games isnt worth it at all.

I think Reggie Watson will likely get some appearances this season for sure. Especially first half of the season as players like Henderson are currently unavailable.

I honestly don't think Alonso would have given Watson and Nicoll-Jazuli shirt numbers if he didn't think they were ready ... Xabi doesn't strike me as a box ticker to "show" the academy pathway to the first team squad unless it's a genuine addition to the squad ...

Teams have had injuries in the past that have left them short. This is how a lot of youngsters have got their chance.

It always seems like a good team with a proper system in place can get away with making do when missing a player. The problem I find with us in recent times is we can’t cope with this kind of scenario. Hopefully Alonso can create a system that is more than the sum of its parts.

Monaco released him because he barely played. Missed 30+ games to injury.

Roma, and their coach in particular, are said to want Jamie Gittens as well, if we can work out a deal that means they have to buy him after a loan then bringing in Kone really should be a priority.......
